I got it once through download.com. If you go there, search for Open Office, then scroll down the page to find it. I think you can also go to openoffice.org.

I have it on my other laptop. Never use it, but my niece loves it.

Go to openoffice.org site. That way you'll get the right version. I've been using it since, well probably since it came out and it's on my "essentials" list for new machines and machines I set up for people. It has advantages over MS Office and disadvantages. But it's free and quite compatible with the M$ version. It's a hefty download of course so you'll want a broadband connection or a downloader.

I usually check about every 6 months to a year for updates. Just go to Help/Check for Updates to see about a new version.

Thanks, I am downloading it now. I did find that page but it wasn't working till I ok'ed it.
I like it for letter writting with the fancy fonts. What do you use your for?

I have MS Office XP but prefer Open Office.
I like it because it is much easier to install.

It is all I use now. It comes with most linux distros too so have it on all my linux machines also.
