Confession time

Okay. So yesterday we were at a birthday party. We all know that I don't eat cake, right? Anyhow. When it came time to serve the cake, one of the paper plates was dropped face down on the filthy (and I mean grimey) restaurant carpet. The person serving the cake set that plate aside for a moment, took the plate in front of me and kept on plating.

There were only just enough plates, so I figured that she knew I didn't eat cake and considered it an extra, and would throw the contaminated plate away.

That was not the case. She served two more people, plated another piece of cake onto that dirty plate and made a big deal about serving it to ME. Somebody else tried to take it (and no, they had no idea the plate had been on the floor) and she practically beat them off to make sure that piece of cake went to me.

The waitress brought out coffee and tea and there was some confusion about who ordered what, but that was cleared up and people began to eat the dessert.

When I started to eat the piece of cake that was in front of me - making a BIG deal about how good the cake looked, yum yum yum - DH stopped me and whispered that the plate was dirty. I said "I know. And I know she saved it for me, but I am SO past all that".

He was quite proud of me. Aren't you?

We all know I switched the plates right? She gave me the dirty plate, and I returned the favour. Wasn't that NICE of me??? Bwa-ha-ha-haaaaaa!
