What's for dinner Super Bowl Sunday?

We're sort of having Super Bowl food. Ham and cheese sliders, potato salad and a Mrs. Prendable chocolate/caramel apple. Well, part of one anyway. We have cinnamon sugar pretzels that I made the other day that we've been snacking on. Those things are addictive! Beer for beverage.

I'm watching the golf tournament right now. Love that Phil! I made a big pot of chili and it smells sooo good. We'll have chili and corn bread and lots for the freezer. If the Super bowl gets tense, maybe some popcorn with white truffle oil.

Not a Super Bowl watcher :o)

Lunched with 3 gals from church at Longhorn's.
I had their 6 oz steak, dry baked potato and salad. T'was good.

We are huge Steeler fans - we made sure that we were done eating by 4pm because our stomachs were so nervous, we couldn't eat after that :) We had: Vegies/dip Cheese/crackers PA Dutch ring bologna/Pepperoni Cold Crab dip Shrimp Cocktail Clams Casino Spread Hot Artichoke/Spinach Dip Homemade pita chips Roethlis-burgers Homemade pierogies Fudge Brownies with PB frosting Everyone stayed overnight after that emotionally draining game and got up early this morning to go home - oldest DD had to drive over an hour to get to work from here and youngest has a 3 1/2 hour drive back to college. We are glad that they are still big fans - it's something that gives us an excuse to do a lot of things together as a family :) Cindy

oh Manitou Springs what a blast from my past! I love that town too, I used to drive there a lot just to hang out. Such a pretty place and fun. Have not been there in years and probably will never make it back. Yesterday I loaded my slow cooker with my pulled pork stuff and let it cook all day so we could have sandwiches for dinner. Hubby watched some of the game, we both tried to catch most of the commercials. I sat in my chair and played with my tablet surfing various sites and reading. I had bought some pantry storage cabinets so we put one of those together for my kitchen, it will be well needed storage. That pretty much covers it .

We are headed to Indian Rocks Beach also Patti! Annual SB party at my friends who have this 'mansion like' home on the Intercoastal. Live music from 2pm until game time. I'm making Manhattan Clam Chowder and individual Beer Cheddar Biscuit bowls to serve the soup in, and also my grilled 'Yankee Chicken' legs & wings. No absolutely NOTHING about football but the party is a blast!! LOL

Jasdip, that cake may not have turned out, but it sure sounds good to me. Sometimes my fudge upside down cake turns out with a "thick" sauce. Dinner at your house sounds good--lots of food! Raven, live it up, girl! Live on the edge and have that mixed fruit salad :-) I am learning to appreciate leftovers now that I'm pretty much on a liquid diet. And that pizza makes me hungry. Glenda--now I get it! Susan, it's always sad when the steak's gone :-( Tell us more about the pretzel rolls. We're they in the frozen food section or already baked? They sure are good. Georgysmom, hope your ironing is all finished. That is one of my least favorite jobs and I avoid it at all costs.

We had our dinner at noon at church. I only came home with some cupcakes. Our supper, was chicken noodle soup, not hmoemade, and grilled cheese sandwiches and cupcakes. I had milk to drink. No football for me so I am going to my room soon.

Not really a superbowl person either. Although, I may turn it on for a bit since I know Joe Flacco's family (taught is father in high school) and one of DD's patients is starring in one of the commercials.

Anyway, dinner is pot pies--chicken for DH, beef for me. And apple muffins that I made mainly to use up the leftover applesauce in the fridge.

I was hoping golf would be televised today on our local station, but it's not. We don't get the golf channel.

I'm trying a new recipe today. I marinated a pork loin in balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic and spices. Roasting it with some cut up potatoes carrots and onions, in the sauce. It smells good, I'll post the recipe if it's a keeper.

Broccoli/beef stir fry, coleslaw, homemade bread, and apple pie. DD#2 was here so that was a treat.

I am just watching to see the commercials, I said I was cheering for the Ravens for obvious reasons.

Jasdip, sure sorry you missed the golf game. Phil was just brilliant. It's always fun to see him play so well. Brandt Snedeker was pretty awesome, too.

Had our neighbor across the street over for dinner. She is 77 and lives alone. We have been neighbors since 1986.

Dinner was country style ribs, rice and sauteed spinach.
