Another commercial I hate..

Those stupid McCain Slow Cooker commercials. They always have senseless screaming, which I think is supposed to say that they're startled that dinner is read already. I find those commercials very annoying.

I know we've done this before, but what commercials do you like or not like?

I reeeally love the Mac (Apple) commercials that bite Vista (Microsoft) in the butt. Haven't seen my favorite one in a while, but they're all great.

I HATE HATE HATE the Pepto-Bismol commercials with the terrible auditions. and it says see more auditions on their website! NO Thank-you!

I think the 4-hour thing is kinda like the warning on my Vicodin: "alcohol may intensify effects of this medication"...sounds more like encouragement than a warning to me. Though i have to admit, the scene in "40-Year-Old Virgin" where Steve Carell calls the emergency hotline because he has that problem(but didn't take any meds) and the Indian operator starts giving him suggestions anyway...just tooooo funny. Ugh! I hate all the ED commercials on soooo many levels, i'm embarrassed FOR those guys on the Viva commercial...and what the HELL is up with those bathtubs?? There's your problem, Bunky, you two are supposed to be in the SAME tub, as far as i can remember...and can we talk herpes?? How about toenail fungus? How bad do you have to want to be on TV to pretend you have any of these things? Talking about rude kids in commercials...the little brat in the grocery store, who doesn't like ANYTHING except Pediasure...which, incidentally, is made mostly of manufacturing by-products, like whey, and heapin' helpins of maltose, fructose, dextrose, sucrose...i guess we can just hope that after the sugar crash, the obnoxious kid will be comatose. Seriously, she makes child abuse seem reasonable, and the mom needs repeated V-8 smacks to the forehead for letting this get so out of hand.

Unfortunately the commercials are usually geared to the younger generations and anyone over 30 is just so much yadda yadda. About the only way to make clear to company executives the ideas for commercials are atrocious is to hit them in the pocketbook. Bottom line is these ads are generating money and as long as they are doing so will continue. One option is to call or write the manufacturer of the products with offending commercials an let them know just how much the commercial has truned you off of the product. I find this has worked in many instances. So many big name products have 1-800 numbers on the product packaging just jot it down and then give them a call or there is definitely an address for contact. So do so. If you call on the phone, Be nice when the person answers "How may I help you?" remember that person is a customer service representative.(CSR) and did not write or pay for the ad. Don't get sidetracked by the long wait to speak with a human or make multiple complaints just Tell the CSR you have a complaint (or beter yet "an issue") about the commercial and ask her/him to direct/transfer the call to the proper department. In some companies it could be the Marketing Manager in others it may be Media Response. So with a polite tone let the right person know how you and many others you know disapprove of the commercial enough that you will not be buyng the products as well as many other connected products from the same company. Loss of revenue is going to make someone think about getting rid of offending advetisements. CT

" And if you buy your insurance through an independent agent or broker, you're not the target of insurance ads. :)" Since when? LOL They want everyone they can get to buy insurance from them. Not a target, yeah right! Name recognition is of course much coveted but hardly the main motivation. Sales and profits are the main goal. Many people to this day remember the Burma Shave name, but they're long gone so name recognition did not do them the desired good. The other commercial series I dislike so much that I won't even give them name recognition is Roz and the ambulance chaser referral number. It's another channel changer. But what's most interesting about it is they've changed to people who can say the name clearly.

ANYTHING where someone (babies included) throws up!

I know there must be a million more but I can't think of any now. I'm sure they'll be mentioned here.

I hate all commercials about sex stuff or lack of sex. Bra and underware commercials of any kind OH! include tampon and Kotex ones or lubricants YUK!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hate that when you are watching tv with kids:(

I agree with you Susan that those McCain Slow Cooker Commercials are just plain stupid. Another one I absolutely detest are the V8 commercials where they smack each other on the head.

I agree with Betslawn about the Mac and PC commercials. I think Justin Long is a cutie!! Did you know he is dating Drew Barrymore?

I hate the car commercial that moves like the marble game. Makes me absolutely nauseous. I have to turn away whenever it is on.

Have you seen him in any movies Bestlawn? He was in the recent 'Live Free, Die Hard' with Bruce Willis (DH was wondering why I got so interested in that movie all of a sudden). Really cute in 'Herbie:Fully Loaded' and an older flick "Accepted". A bunch more too that I haven't seen like "American Pie" (not the first) and "Alvin and the Chipmunks".

A year or so ago when the Capital One ads with the Vikings were so violent, I emailed them and politely suggested that we had enough violence in the world, and I felt they could do better--and guess what!! They did tone down the ads.

I agree with everyone here, and I'm pretty tired of that Geico lizard too. Barely can understand him, and don't really want to anyway.

I so agree with Susan and Heather, those McCain slowcooker commercials are the stupidest.
Hate em, Hate em, HATE EM!

Favorite now is the NEW MAC AIR, it is so cool even though it is way more $$$$ then we would spend on a Lap top!

The one that I can't watch is the one that shows a dog that thinks he is going to get adopted but doesn't. I think it is for the Humane Society. I don't hate it but it makes me sad.

I hate the Mucinex ones where the blob of mucus is living with his family somewhere in your body/chest. Sick, sick, sick!

There used to be one for some paper towel like Viva or Bounty where the kid squirts soda from a bottle at his mom & she tells him that isn't the way to do it so she starts spraying him with her hose from the sink. Yeah, right, like a mother is gonna show her kid that in the middle of her kitchen. Dumb.
