I can't stand the Eclipse gum commercial where the girl walks up to the guy sitting next to the water cooler and "slurps" from his mouth instead of getting a drink from the cooler. Blech!!!!

    Missed that one.
I hate the one with the little girl who hates brocolli and doesn't like chicken.

And even with planting cacti, everytime the wind blows my neighbors trash cans blow over throwing plastic bags, their mail, etc. into the prickly spines which I have to pick out. I put a heavyish rock on top of my trash can lid that rolls off when the garbage is picked up and I do it even when the wind isnt blowing just in case. And succulants dont do well here either.

I am canceling my service with Comcast. I have the $4.99 charge to cover me in case I need to have a service call. Well in April I did have a service call as one of my two phone lines was not working. The technician who came out broke my phone and did not tell me that he broke it. I found that out much later -- it should have been a hint when he did not want me to hold the phone. Then he or Comcast put a $70.00 charge on my account. When I called Comcast, I told them about this, they admitted that it should not have been there and they told me that they would credit my account on the next bill, but that I was expected to pay it and they would issue a credit. I need to check the statutes but I don't think you can collect on disputed charges, especially when you are aware that YOU made the mistake. For the $70.00 that should not have been billed, they interrupted the service. I refuse to pay it and have notified my local jurisdiction and the FCC. If you are looking for a cable or internet or phone provider, don't walk past Comcast, run as fast and as far as you can.

Have you seen him in any movies Bestlawn? He was in the recent 'Live Free, Die Hard' with Bruce Willis (DH was wondering why I got so interested in that movie all of a sudden). Really cute in 'Herbie:Fully Loaded' and an older flick "Accepted". A bunch more too that I haven't seen like "American Pie" (not the first) and "Alvin and the Chipmunks". he can wrap those bow legs around me LOL I hear you!

I heard back from them already. Here is the email. Dear S., WeÂre sorry to hear of your dissatisfaction with our current advertising. Many times we choose to use tongue-in-cheek humor and satire in our commercials in an effort to communicate information about the ArbyÂs menu in an engaging and entertaining manner. Your opinion is very important to us, and we thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. The last thing we want to do is offend anyone. We have shared your comments with our marketing and advertising teams so they can be considered in the development of future advertising. Very truly yours, ArbyÂs Customer Relations Hopefully their marketing and advertising teams will pull it and realize it is in very poor taste (get it?) and not do it again. Sue

Missed some of those, but I really, REALLY hate the multigrain Cheerios commercial--they picked the 2 ugliest people on the planet, to do super close close-ups of, and gave them the most insane dialogue, that they stumble over . What else does the box say? SHUT UP BOTH OF YOU (Sorry, that one really annoys me and it's on at least 2 dozen times a day, every day)

The Carl's Jr. where they eat sloppy hamburgers and talk with their mouths full.

Love Sally Field, but I don't care about her bones. She must be making a bundle on those annoying commercials. It's a good gig if you can get it!

Sonic, with two people in a car, exchanging silly talk.

Every car commercial from this area.
They have all these young chicks who yell at the camera in high squeaky voices. Sounds like a 5 year old trying to read a teleprompter. And why do they all have to talk so fast? I know they can't understand what they're talking about!

I do so appreciate the mute button.

And yes, Glenda, I hate that whapping fish tail too!

I've contacted a couple of companies sponsoring annoying commercials ... well, not so much the annoying ones, but the ones that they repeat a couple of dozen times during the course of an evening.

To suggest that, as I've talked with people for years about how to make their income work more effectively, and get better returns on their assets, what kind of a reception do they think that I'd get if I knocked on their door eight times during the course of one evening, to recommend to them that I felt that they would be wise to make use of my services.

Usually no reply, but one suggested that he felt the two issues were not comparable.

And that research has proved that such repetition makes an impact on watchers, and results in people using their product (more than if they didn't repeat so much).

I haven't yet replied to ask them for their home address!

    ole joyful

P.S. Have you ever asked your boss for a reduction in pay?

What - don't tell me that you did it to yourself!! Without even asking the boss?! How stupid was that!!

Do you shoot yourself in the foot like that often?

Those GREEN SOFA ones with Jamie Lee Curtis and Activia,,,Valerie Bertinelli ad Have you called Jenny yet??? GRRRRR!!!!!And the animated feminine pad ones..( rolling eyes)

I cannot stand the commercial that shows the guy playing a guitar, saying that he wouldn't be serving food to tourists in a restaurant if he borrowed money from a particular financial firm - think it's Discover.

Poor guitar player feels it's demeaning to work in a theme restaurant.

    I think it's insulting.

The one where the guy is changing the baby's diaper on a bed covered in coats (at a party) and the baby urinates (like a full-throttle hose) all over the place.

I can't stand Vonage with that loud singsong "woohoo, woohoohoo, woohoo woohoohoo". I MUTE instantly!

The "serving fish to tourists in tee shirts" if for free credit report.com. And I'm sick of it too. The sequel on the purchase of a used car is just as tiring "posse's getting laughed at".

I'm actually TRYING to think of a commercial I do like...nothing comes to mind. Although, I will give good acting credit to the materialistic young woman who is on cell phone with her blind date waiting in the parked car outside her window, and she can't see the car until he (rightfully so), decides to give up on her and drives off. Then she sees the car and very juvenile-like says "Wow, cute car!" I think she nailed that line and her look. Too bad for the product promoter that I can't remember what brand of car it is!

I just can't stand those lawyer commericals. Seems one firm or another is advertising every two minutes for personal injury, SS disability or something. Maybe that's just a local thing, but it drives me right up the wall.

I was just laughing at work over that guy who sings "F R E E, that spells free, credit report dot com BAY BEE.

And now, is nothing sacred? - A flashing Viva Viagra on the Weather Channel!!! I'm so tired of body parts and drug commercials and especially that slurping gum commercial. At least with a computer we can keep some of the "spam" away with a few controls but are at the mercy of the advertisers on TV

I agree with everyone here, and I thought of another one which ran 1,000,000,000 times just before Fathers' Day--I think it might have been for Ross'--little girl listing all the things they should get daddy in this annoying high voice. GAG! I keep the mute button handy.

Oh yeah, Valerie Bertinelli and the other one too. Ugh. And all the drug commercials...just pop a pill for every little thing.

Most prescriptions ads, most ads about holidays, and yes the mute button is good.
How all ads get way too loud. I keep threating to walk into one of the furniture stores and YELL--I want to buy something about 3 times and then walk out.
But then, I have already done something similiar to that and DH was not a happy person.

I hate the Sonic commercials and won't stop there anymore because of them.

    Also hate the Viagra commercials.

And the Pharmaceutical co. ads! Jammer and I look at each other after they give the extremely long list of side effects and think that the problem is better than the drugs!

Thought of another one--the KY Gel ad where the couple is in bed...one is for cooling and one is warming--and the fall back on the bed laughing. 'splain that one to the kiddos.

I noticed they changed the Sally Field commercial, in the other one she claims her friend had to make time to take one pill a week but she only has to take one pill a month. If her friend had trouble finding time to take one pill a week how did she find time to go to the bathroom?

Hate Billy Mays yelling about cleaning products, read reviews of how the hardwood floor cleaner ruined some peoples' hardwood floors.

Mostly hate the "It's my money and I want it NOW", as if everyone has some big chunk of money waiting to be tapped.

Why can't they just be quiet, show us the product and go away!
The stupid ads, the ones that are in poor taste, or the ones that yell.....I'm not buying!
    Period!

There's one for some kind of underarm deodorant and a young lady says she has 5 reasons for wearing it. She holds her arms up to stop a taxi to tell him she doesn't want a ride. She also salutes some guy. I can't remember what other things she does, but it is stupid as heck.

I also hate the Vonage commercial. That woman who pushes her side of the screen to boot the other guy off just has an evil, wicked, vindictive look about her.

The Poise commercial. OMG! The two women in a Thrift Store and one puts on a Fake Fur with a big flower on it and says "What do you think?". Then they both laugh with a wail and I guess they wet their Poise because they laugh so hard.

Hey folks: Laughed so hard at some of your comments, especially going into the store and yelling something three times. ROFLOL. Wish I could do that.

I hate the Burger King commercials with that plastic looking "king". Creeps me out.

I also hate all the car commercials lately, touting high mileage -- yeah, right. (Of course, I am biased, DH and I own two Priuses, or would that be Prii?)

I hate all those already mentioned and i also HATE the Baskin Robbins one where the dad turns the hose on the little boy,to wash him so they can go to BR for ice cream. The water looks like it is coming out of that hose in a very strong stream,so to me i think it would hurt.Anyway earlier this year a lady went to jail for turning a hose at a car wash on her DD.Same thing to me,shouldn't be done, especially with the force of water that appears.JMO

I can't stand most any commercial that has singing kids in them. I think it's Band-Aids that's going around now. Won't buy them because of it. No, it's not "cute" to have some kid caterwauling like they've had a corncob rammed up their rear.

There used to be some cute kid commercials. The Oscar Meyer bologna is one. Now there's a couple of local commercials that are really irritating, one is a fat kid that's a pawn shop owner's grandkid named "Eggmoe" and a cell phone store that has a little girl screaming the name of the place.

Now I have to say, I do get a kick out of the credit report one about he wouldn't be serving chowder to tourists in t-shirts! I think that's funny.

Oh, more irritating ones are most of the beauty ones of any type. The picture of the bald guy with a snarl on his face in a mug shot position, next to the full head of hair, professional lighting, nice background, big smile... And the droopy eyed women squinting to make wrinkles next to the new hairdoo, smile and all that from some face cream! Get real!

I was thinking how the commercials have changed over the years. Remember how it used to be our deodorant won't leave you embarrassed LIKE THAT OTHER BRAND! Now they just say Right Guard STINKS!!!

And let's throw in most all of the infomercials! Can you hear me now?

The guy in the elevator for the male enhancement one.
Girl gets on the elevator,he's holding the box in his hand in front of his fly, door closes then opens to him tucking shirt tail inside his pants, girl has a smile on her face. She gets off the elevator and another one gets on,they give each other that "look" and it shows their feet. One of her's lifts off the floor and the door closes.Dumb, dumb, dumb!!
    The deodorant commercial Mscsippy mentioned.Duuuh!
Patti43-I always laugh at the personal lubricant one.Shows them taking their shirts off on the bed then they are laying there with all their clothes on when the kid calls out to them.LOL

You know, I must be in a mood today. I soooo hate the viva viagra commercial (what an insult to the viva las vegas tune by elvis) anyhow, it seems it comes on around 7 pm. Now, a lot of families may be eating dinner with their kids, who have to hear the side effects disclaimer part about "if you have an erection lasting more than 4 hours, go to a hospital". Sheesh. That ought to be banned from prime time.

The other day some local disc jockeys were wondering about what would happen if someone did go to the hospital for an erection lasting more than 4 hours. They wondered if the "patient" was going there just for bragging rights or would actually be complaining and if he was timing his erection like women time labor pains. They were being so silly, but they sure made me laugh.

    Linda

Wow, Linda, never thought about what'd happen if someone really did have to go to the hospital. How do you suppose the doctors take care of the "problem"???

I don't care for any commercial that has to do with tampons or pads, urinary problems, can't get it up problems, people that yell...Billy Mays...all of the above. Guess I can just do without commercials all together. LOL

I just did a google on where to complain about the ads and can't find just one place I guess we have to do a lot of individual complaining but where? Australia seems to have a couple of places. I wish there was just one.,

i was glad to see someone else say billy mays, i cannot stand his loud, whiny high-pitched voice. not even to mention that half that crap he pitches doesn't even work!!!
hate that viva viagra one too

Unfortunately the commercials are usually geared to the younger generations and anyone over 30 is just so much yadda yadda. About the only way to make clear to company executives the ideas for commercials are atrocious is to hit them in the pocketbook. Bottom line is these ads are generating money and as long as they are doing so will continue. One option is to call or write the manufacturer of the products with offending commercials an let them know just how much the commercial has truned you off of the product. I find this has worked in many instances. So many big name products have 1-800 numbers on the product packaging just jot it down and then give them a call or there is definitely an address for contact. So do so.
If you call on the phone, Be nice when the person answers "How may I help you?" remember that person is a customer service representative.(CSR) and did not write or pay for the ad. Don't get sidetracked by the long wait to speak with a human or make multiple complaints just Tell the CSR you have a complaint (or beter yet "an issue") about the commercial and ask her/him to direct/transfer the call to the proper department. In some companies it could be the Marketing Manager in others it may be Media Response. So with a polite tone let the right person know how you and many others you know disapprove of the commercial enough that you will not be buyng the products as well as many other connected products from the same company. Loss of revenue is going to make someone think about getting rid of offending advetisements.

The one that really gets to me, I think is a local one. Unless they do it for other banks. It is on tv and the radio and it is a girl telling her parents they got "banked". The mother says to watch her mouth and the girl says again, but you got "banked", they say it in a way that makes you think of the f word. I just hate it. It is for a State bank here. About paying to much in fees and such, that we are getting "banked" if we don't use this certain bank. I really hate it.
