I love the Divinity, and think it will look just fine with the carrara. I think anything brighter than the Divinity will look too harsh in your space. I think softer is definitely the way to go.

I think the divinity looks great. It is reading as a bright white next to the carrara. I had a stack of the BM white chips...it's amazing how slight the variations are between one to the next.

Festusbodine.. that is exactly what I want to make sure doesn't happen. I have seen carrara next to white that make it more grey and the whites look dirty.. I would be devestated. I want it to look clean but not stark!

Penelope, not sure if you saw but I put a whiter chip next to the divinity door and a divinity chip to show the contrast in the photos.

Thanks for the input.. they also have a linen white , but I thought it was too yellow in tone and then China white that was too pink in tone... not sure what divinity is in tone.. how odd, I cant describe it.... but I am glad that is the winner so far.. all photos that I love in magazines or websites of kd's usually show WHITE white with carrara. My favorite website is www.smithriverkitchens.com. I wrote to them to see what whites they use in their photos..

I am truly making myself nuts staring at this white door in my kitchen !!! My husband sees me looking over at it throughout the day and night and moving it around my kitchen... he thinks I am a bit "off" these days due to the kitchen... lol

I think the Alpine will be too stark. Divinity seems to coordinate nicely with your marble sample.I think the Divinity is warmer - but I am not a fan of the rather clinical look of some white kitchens (any kitchen that appears to looks better styled for a magazine shoot than when someone is actually cooking in it is a design miss in my book).

I just went to the hardware store and got Benjamin Moore color swatches. The divinity is very close to the BM White Dove! So that made me happy....thanks soo much for all the input

IÂm leaning toward BM White Dove because of KatieÂs, WillowÂs, and the many other kitchens I love that use that color.

I donÂt want to offend anyone who didnÂt use White Dove  I know there are many beautiful whites  itÂs just that White Dove seems to be used often and I donÂt want to stress over this color choice! :-)

jeri, if they respond I sure will. I sent them an email yesterday morning and have not heard back. Another website is hamptondesigns.com to look at this style white kitchen. Pictures are soo hard to tell sometimes.

So now I am more confused my mom and another interior designer think I should go whiter since I get no natural sun light in this room.... they feeel I ahve an even brighter white now and it is not too white... the interior designer that came today thinks I should also switch to polished chrome rather then satin nickel to achieve a country cottage but sleek look.... any help is appreciated....

All I can think to say is you love KatieOBÂs kitchen. White Dove. You probably have other favorites using White Dove as well. Willow Décor comes to mind. You said your choice of Divinity is very close to White Dove, so you know you will like the results. Like you, I worry that a brighter white will make the kitchen too stark, too institutional.

I went to the paint store for the first time today and took cards for White Dove, Simply White, Cloud White, and Mascarpone. White Dove is the least white of the bunch and I have to keep looking at KatieÂs kitchen to remember that it is white. This is not to scare you away  it is to show that you cannot judge the color based on a small sample!

I think you should stick to your Divinity. Not because I know what I am doing, but because I trust that Willow, Katie, and many others who have gone before us, do. :-)

Yes, I feel like it is a saga!!! I am ready for all but the color and because I have exposed hinges I must decide the metal too! The other problem I have is all along I felt I need to go whiter for this room deep in my gut! But then scared to have it look institutional... EVEN odder the KD that came yesterday ( I hired her for 1 hour) I found her on willows site somehow and she felt the whiter one was WARMER.. brighter but warmer. THe divinity was less bright but cool with the green/blue under hues... so that is what REALLY through me for a loop. My KD is ready to process my cabinets so I can have them in about 6-7 weeks and I am stuck here! BUt I hear everything you are saying.. I have thought ALL that.. but then I get my mom here too saying this room has no sunlight... you need to go whiter.. and since the white I have now is whiter and does not look too white... go with the brighter one...Today I will take all my colors to a store with hardware and tiles and that should help me make my decision... at least my KD suggested that. She probably things I am nuts for not being able to decide... if I had high ceilings and sunlight I would definitly choose divinity. I will keep you posted.

I feel your pain! I too am trying to decide on a white cabinet color. I LOVE the kitchens with the white dove, and want to do that but all of my trim is acadia white. I keep thinking the acadia white isn't white enough for me, but everyone thinks I should match the trim with the cabinets, since some areas butt up against one another. The problem is that I am doing oil based paint on cabs, and after putting up a sample of the oil next to the latex, they aren't an exact match! Close, but the oil is slightly darker. I am in a huge quandry too! It sounds like you really like the white dove, and to me, it is really white, but soft, not institutional.

The Divinity is cooler and the other one warmer? Huh  I would have thought the other way around, but I do think you want the warmer. Or at least I know I favor the warmer end of the spectrum, so that is what I want. Cooler feels too modern to me  but I know many like that too.

You know? IÂm sure you canÂt go wrong. YouÂll be able to warm the kitchen up if it needs it. You are going to have Walnut (which is what I want too) Â that will add a lot of warmth.

Well I took all my samples around today.. what I discovered at first is the divinity white is too dull but then I discovered it is not too dull for me when I put POLISHED NICKEL... my original LOVE that everyone keeps trying to talk me out of and that I talked myself out of..... I think part of my discontentment is that I feel as though I am settling for satin nickel to stay more practical..... I loved the polished nickel next to my divinity door....do I go back to it.. it will brighten up my dark kitchen with its polishedness in my eyes.... but will I be a slave to it... ahh the saga continues.. one KD that runs a faucet and hardware store said I CAN leave it with satin nickel exposed hinges just in case I ever replace the PN with SN.. hum... thoughts????

OKay today I decided I have wasted money on 2 designers in addition to the CKD that designed and sold me the cabinets. I AM DONE TALKING TO THESE people.. it has taken me in a BIG circle of trying to get me to do different things... I think I am done talking, I am going to ignore all of them and follow my heart.. marble AND Polished nickel.. if I use the pn , I then know I want the divinity color cabinet.. I think the reason the color of the cab bothered me is that I didnt like the satin hardware!
