Just went grocery shopping and was thinking...

about Liz. LOL! First went to Save a Lot for canned goods, basic stuff and some convenience foods, nearly a full cartload, frozen fish but no meat, other than turkey hotdogs and turkey bacon: $61.29.

Second stop, Krogers, only meat I bought was chicken legs (2 packages), 1 package of boneless skinless chicken breasts and 1 package of ground turkey (which was cheaper than the beef for some reason). Total: $77.46! that's after they took off over $12 in "savings" using my Kroger card. So, if I didn't have a Kroger card my total would've been almost $90 for a cart that wasn't even 1/4 the way full!

My total is still a lot cheaper than Liz's, but it would've been close if I had bought two full cartloads at Krogers.

I try and keep my grocery to $150 for two weeks, including household stuff like bags, cleaners, etc...It's hard to do. I went over budget last payday because I went shopping last week and spent about $60 more than I planned. I may have to increase my biweekly budget to $200.
