Maybe they're headed here. They're the Michigan state bird :-) Probably along with being state bird for other states as well.

Actually we have some who stay here in Minnesota year around. Mostly in the southern part of the state. I look forward to seeing my first Robin of the spring. Dottie

I've been seeing groups of robins here for a couple of weeks now.
Leslie

Robins have been here for a while, but not in the masses like years before.
Friend's DH said it is probably due to global warming and they don't need to head as far south as they used to.

Anyhow, whatever, they are not here in big numbers as in the past..

They better hold up somewhere, we are expecting about 6 inches of snow in the southern part of MN tomorrow.

We always get excited about that first robin.

I haven't seen any robins yet. We have dandilions in the yard. Come and get them.

I remember when I was little and we lived in MI....gramma always said the first robin meant spring is here....Stacy

Yeah what Judy said! Won't be no spring here for a longggg time! They'd freeze their lil drumsticks!
DH just told me the other night, exactly one month til spring. I said IN YOUR DREAMS! LOL
More like 2 months up here!
But boy I'd love to see one!

I heard frogs croaking today and then heard on tv that we can expect snow flurries in the next couple of days. Poor frogs!

We've had crows here now for over a week, which is a really good sign

Myself,I really look forward to those robins heading north..thank you for giving me something to look forward to!

I'm in southern Maine and some robins hang around all winter. I love when they arrive in flocks! They are such happy birds.

Jaybird where are you in Ctex.

The Robins arived here in Iowa about a week ago....

They are going to be real sorry they came when tomorrow comes...supposed to get cold and rainy.

patti

they'd get their feet wet tonight...we still have melting snow...

We have mulberry trees on our lot line. These ripen in the first part of summer. A few years back, a robin was wobbling around in my neighbor's driveway, too drunk to fly. He'd gorged himself on over-ripe, fermented, mulberries. LOL

No fermented mulberries around here.

Robins, either.

It's raining - taking the snow down.

Again.

ole joyful

My dad said his purple martins arrived yesterday here in Oklahoma. One of the weather guys on TV said that this time of year, there are so many purple martins coming north you can see them on radar. Nearby bats show up in late summer, too.

nanatricia, email me from my page, and we'll visit!!
Thanks,
J

I'm bracing myself... this means the snowbirds are also ready to return... If there's a tourist season, shouldn't there be an open season on snowbirds too???
