I got rid of a grocery bag of decorations. I kept a bag by me while I was organizing my decorations, and tossed as I saw things that I had no reason for keeping. I kind of pictured Peter from Clean Sweep in front of me asking, "And why are you keeping that stored? When was the last time you used it?"

But that doesn't count, because I did it on Sunday, before you posted the challenge.

I just put it up here to show how easy it is to toss a bag's worth of true junk hiding amongst things you really do want or need.

I plan to toss some more though, if I have the time to hit a space!

re: Sheets. I went thru mine last summer, and purged away. I kept one old set for paint/project tarping, and that was it. The rest went to Goodwill. End result was a big pile of singles, that I had no match for. And another pile of twin sheets, and I no longer possess a twin bed.

Oh, and Talley Sue would be proud. I labled the shelves Full, Queen and King, and stowed sizes together. (Still, DH comes to me last week and says, Honey, do we have any Queen sheet sets?)

Ginger, is this a bathroom only challenge?
If so, I'd like to do it for myself as a "straighten the bathroom challenge", because I go through the bathroom fairly often and throw things out. There are crumpled up towels on the shelf that need refolding now, so I can do that and try to find a small bagful of things to throw away at the same time.

I moved 6 months ago and still have probably 3 boxes of bathroom "stuff" I haven't used yet, partly because the master bath is not ready for use yet, and partly because it's hard for me to know what to keep, what to get rid of, and if I should just throw it away?

Not a bathroom only challenge - just a challenge in general. Let's see who can get rid of the most small grocery bags full of stuff. I don't care if it goes to the garbage or goodwill or another friend. As long as the grocery bag full of stuff is out of your house.

Today I took out three MORE small bags of stuff that I just threw in the garbage. Small odds and ends types stuff. SO put me down for four in one day.

I have a tub of bags in my car...One bag is a winter coat and snow pants...takes up the whole bag. Another has kids plates...you know Bear, Dora, etc. One is stuffed animals and one is a frog bathroom set...curtain, pictures, etc. So that's 3 bags as of Sunday...Do we getta start from Sunday? Do we? Do we? But that's okay.. I still have an entire closet to work on.

Okay, count me in. One bag tonight.

Unloaded three boxes of pots,pans and kitchen supp;ies to new hire .Also off loaded some clothes to her.Tomorrow I am giving her a large silk plant that I have no need for.

I've got about 5 bags out in the garage, ready for Goodwill...except I did this last month so it shouldn't count. BUT, I am quite certain I can find more. I am SO ready to live a clutter-free life. I'm in!

Well, it's not in the bathroom, but related to it. I have a linen closet that was driving me nuts. I just chucked a huge trash bag full of perfectly good towels/washcloths that go back to 4 bathrooms ago. (Actually, they're going in my yard sale, since towels are good sellers.) I now have two shelves of towels; the colors and the whites. Colors are for guests. This is plenty of towels for us, including our families and the dog. I feel good!

OK, it's *in* the bathroom. But it's not *of* the bathroom.

We have a stall shower in bathroom #2, and we use it as our place to put stuff when we're painting, etc. We have a huge stack of stuff in there, and we need to get that shower usable again.

I'm sure if I'm mean, I can throw out a small garbage bag full. I mean, we've been functional since before Thanksgiving, so I'm pretty sure we don't really need most of that stuff.

Ok- I'm holding firm at four. My goal is to clean out the craft closet I have tomorrow and reline the shelves. So that will give me another couple of bags.

Where does everyone else stand? Any luck getting bags out of their homes?
