Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes! We did start Saturday evening with dinner out with my two sons and my mom. This was after my boys helped me with some yard work. Tonight I'm going to my mom's for dinner and next week, I'll go out to dinner with some friends from work (too much going on to go this week). Then next month, a lovely birthday present for me, my mom and my youngest sister (we all have b'days in Sept.): a 4-day trip to Key West, FL compliments of my BIL and middle sister! Thank you Dcarch, Sally, Jasdip and bcskye for the birthday wishes. I had a very fun day at work. I sent out an invitation to about 100 co-workers and friends this morning. It said "I'm 60 today and one day you will be too!" I don't like cake so I ordered a full sheet pan, giant rice krispy bar! It was 3" thick and way too much for the 70+ people that showed up. I've never met anyone with an October 1 birthday before. So it came as a real surprise last year when I found out the woman I work for shares my birthday. She went to Philly yesterday and had to miss the party. One of the guys that also works for her made a quick video and sent it to her phone. She was at the airport boarding her flight to come home when she received it. She particularly like the inscription on the giant bar. I don't know how old Molly is ....I'm thinking early 40's. She had no idea I was 60 however! Dcarch - you should receive your rice later this week. And then you can entertain us with the many unusual creations you come up with. I have shared many pounds of rice over the years. But I don't think I have ever known anyone who is so creative and who enjoys the rice as much as you do. Happy Birthday to you ......whenever it is! Looks like the woodshed is in order for me! I totally missed your day:( I've put your block in the mail, along w/a consolation surprise. Please forgive my lapse - I'm SO in need of a retreat! Thank you all for the lovely birthday wishes! They really warm my heart.

No selling bread at the market today - it is cold (50s) and rainy- 80% chance of rain this morning, so I made the executive decision on Wed. not to sell this weekend. Instead, I'm making Lou's Italian gravy/red sauce this morning and I've already been to the grocery store. I plan to clean my house some, work on my quilting projects, play around on the dulcimer, and watch The King's Speech tonight.

Tomorrow my sons are coming up and we are having a family lunch at Mom's to celebrate the September birthdays - we have 4 in our family this month. So, a good time to look forward to.

I agree, the weekend sound perfect, except for that cleaning. Can't you get someone else to clean, after all, it's your birthday and it's the WEEKEND!
