I used 2 layers of Regular Waffles, with Vanilla IceCream,
Nuts , Chocolate Syrup,
Strawberry Preserves, split Bannana's, Whipped Cream and topped with Strawberries.

OMG, I/we loved it! I don't have dessert dishes but that cocktail glass seems to have worked out okay for the pic...lol! Next on the list is Tracey's chocolate with the heath bars.

Not dessert but I made some white trash to send to my Marine (DN) along with some of his favorite cookies...oatmeal raisin cookies. A jar of Sharon's(aka the pickle lady from Canada) dills will be going too.

Bad pics....had to use the flash as it was late. The trash is sprinkled with red and blue suger...red white and blue too support our troops. Not to forget others serving from other countries.

Coconut, I love the crust leftover pics...brings back lots of memories of pie making with my DGM and DM. The dog pic is too funny too!

To heck with a diet....just give me dessert!!

LOL, you guys. He got a small piece of a cinnamon crisp. I told him he was exposing himself way too much with that pose.. lol.

Lou, lol, if you can eat a quarter of that waffle concoction you can eat a small slice of pecan pie. I like to serve it with unsweetened whipped cream. That one was for an order so we didn't have any of it. Smiles. I also love to make walnut pie the same way and serve it with sour cream.

David, guess I was posting when you posted. I just bought some malt balls and your ice cream just adds to me wanting to make that recipe. I have some toffee chips too... hmmm..

I did make a 3 step cheesecake the other night with a GF crust.

The cheesecake was easy.
2 bricks cream cheese
1/2 c sugar
juice of one meyer lemon
zest of said lemon
pinch of sea salt
1/2 t vanilla
2 eggs

The crust was easy too.

2/3 c almond meal
1/3 c oat flour
2T of melted butter
1/2 T of vanilla sugar

Mix well, press into 9" pie plate..top with creamcheese mixture and bake at 350 until firm.

I made cherry pies the other day. Pastry and filling were from scratch, unfortunately, I don't think I care too much for pastry but I keep making it thinking...one day I'll get wowed. Oh well, it was fun even though I almost burnt the crusts. Sorry, I don't know to post a picture directly so I have to link it.

I can't believe I am going to follow the fabulous Ann_t with my cell phone camera picture, but this is the first time I've made dessert in a while. It turned out rather well so I gotta post. I wanted some cinnamon apples. I boiled them in a sugar/cinnamon sauce with the cinnamon sticks. Added some nutmeg and more sugar. Then raisins. Then I made fresh whipped cream, to which I again added (powdered) sugar (see a general theme here?). It was hot and sweet and tangy and very good! It looked a lot better before the hot apples started melting the cold whipped cream! As I ate (read inhaled), the melted cream spilled out of the dish, ran down my arms and dropped to the floor; I didn't care as I was already in sugar bliss (though if I stick to the kitchen floor when I cook breakfast in the morning we may have an issue).

You guys have really made me itching to go into the kitchen a bake something.

Right now I have a big batch of Chocolate Caramel sauce waiting for me. I like to use it as a dipping sauce when I have company. I give each person a little bowl on a small plate with these cute little forks that I found. I then pass around banana slices, strawberries and cut up donut holes for them to dunk.

Any left over is fair game as an ice cream sauce.

Lou, those waffles are over the top! I think those would a great dessert to serve when we have friends over.

I've not been baking too much-back to school time for me and the munchkins so we are not home very much. I did make some double chocolate mocha brownies the other day which the kids have been inhaling. I used natural turbinado sugar for the first time and they don't seem nearly as sweet. I don't know if you are supposed to add more turbinado when you sub for regular sugar, but it was a noticable difference to me.

She's lovely and so is the pie. Cherry pie is my favorite fruit pie. You did a great job with it and I'm sure it was wonderful to eat.

What makes it double cherry? Is it the cherries on the crust or something else?

DOUBLE CHERRY PIE

Serves 8

Ingredients

4 cups frozen unsweetened tart cherries
1 cup dried tart cherries
1 cup granulated sugar
2 Tbs quick-cooking tapioca
1/2 tsp almond extract
1 9-inch pie crust, with top
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 Tbs butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Combine frozen cherries, dried cherries, granulated sugar, tapioca and almond extract in a large mixing bowl; mix well. (It is not necessary to thaw cherries before using.) Let cherry mixture stand 15 minutes.

Line a 9-inch pie plate with pastry; fill with cherry mixture. Sprinkle with nutmeg. Dot with butter [we did not]. Adjust top crust, cutting slits for steam to escape.

Bake at 375°F for about 1 hour, or until crust is golden brown and filling is bubbly. If necessary, cover edge of crust with aluminum foil to prevent over-browning.

NOTES: Two 16-ounce cans unsweetened tart cherries [which is what we used], well drained, can be substituted for frozen tart cherries. This is NOT "Cherry Pie Filling".

Made this for tonight--pulled a couple of lemons off the tree and made lemon pudding cake.

So many fancy pants desserts! I love it! DH had his fantasy football draft tonight and I provided dessert. I couldn't decide what to make, so I ended up with three choices-Lemon brownies (thanks to Annie for reminding me about them), peanut butter pie, and chocolate chip M&M cookies for the kids.

Joe, the pie looks delicious, and very nicely decorated with those pastry leaves. Your "honey" looks like she's happy with it too. I was hoping that "double cherry" meant it had sweet cherries in it, I've yet to find a decent pie recipe that takes those sweet cherries so of course I have a lot of them in the freezer....

I had lemon brownies too, here's mine:

Notice the difference in texture? I add a little baking powder to mine so they are less dense and more like cake.

Annie, I thought about adding the bp but I decided not to so I could see the difference between mine and yours. I liked the flavor of mine, but I did not like the recipe method of just dumping the butter into the flour and sugar. I'm thinking maybe next time I will make them like I make my regular brownies-melting the butter, then mixing in the sugar, then eggs, then flour and see how they turn out. I did double the lemon juice in the recipe and threw in an extra tablespoon in the glaze and the flavor was great.

More desserts here, the Monkey Princess and Bruvver came over yesterday and we just had to make some elephant ears. The Princess didn't get quite enough of them at this year's fairs and festivals, LOL. So, she and Bruvver started stirring some up...

We fried them in hot oil and sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar:

We also had a birthday party today, for my sister's Terrible Twins. They turned seven so I decided to make some cake pops, I'd seen them all over the internet. They both like "Hello Kitty" so off I go. I bake a cake. From scratch, the Hershey's Cocoa recipe. I crumble it up and mix up a cream cheese based buttercream frosting, mix it all together. Make balls, add sticks and freeze. But what for ears? White/vanilla chips, stuck to the tops of the cake balls, as per "Bakerella", then a dip into melted candy coating. Some piped on decorations and we have it:

What a PIA. Plus, the coating drips down and it's not smooth, and my piece of styrofoam I had holding the pops fell over and smashed several. I gave up on "hello Kitty" and just dipped the rest, sprinkled them and added some flowers:

Oh yeah, and just to add to the equation, I have to tell you that I tasted one of them today. It was possibly one of the worst things I have ever put into my mouth, so sweet it would make your teeth ache and soft and mushy, kind of like the center of brownies when they aren't quite cooked enough. Ewwww.....
