Did you watch the Grammys last night?

I was mostly disappointed in the show. I know I'm going to sound old here, but hip-hop and its relatives seem to be taking over American music. I used to love the Grammys for its amazing performances and unexpected duets. Last night I loved Alicia Keys' duet with Frank Sinatra (his video image), and it was nice to see Keely Smith still sounding so good. Plus I didn't know Fergie had such a good voice--and how cool to pair her with John Legend.

I thought the Fogarty-Little Richard-Jerry Lee Lewis performance was fun, although Jerry Lee didn't look well, I thought, and seemed almost lethargic. And of course I liked Andrea Bocelli's duet with Josh Groban (although Josh seemed to be trying too hard). But I was rather unmoved by the rest of it. Thought I'd like Feist more, but I didn't care for her song. Kinda sorry to see the formerly-wholesome Miley Cyrus with her darkened hair and glam black eye makeup. I actively disliked the performance of Amy Winehouse, who seemed to be the performer who excited the audience more than all the others. Like I said, I'm obviously getting old.

PS: I was very happy to see Herbie Hancock win for best album. I have that CD, and it's awesome. And although I'm not a big fan of Kanye West, when he interrupted his speech to his mother to say, "It would be in good taste to stop the music," I certainly agreed with him. And I'm glad the music stopped.

I was really tired and drifted in and out of light sleep. LOL! I did see Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard. I thought Jerry Lee looked bad too, but he hasn't had the face lifts that Little Richard has had. LOL!

Richard has had his face so tightly tucked his natural hair line probably starts 6 inches in back of his ears.

Jerry Lee...Where is that Bad Boy long hair and skinny body. I notice he didn't play the piano with his foot on this performance.

Don't worry Jerry the only way I can lift my legs is in the recliner with the lever.

I didn't see Alisha Keyes. Darn! I saw Amy Whitehouse on the replays today. Whatever...floats your boat.

Times have changed. So sorry I missed Tina Turner...Darn!

They were talking about the Miley Cyrus makeup on the C&W station I listen to this morning and they too said it was awful. Hopefully it won't become the norm.

Hi Kids, I thought it was a good show last night. I was sad to see Dad and Son go. They did a good job of keeping it together and almost made it at the end. They were a good team, always nice to each other and respectful. I wish it had been a non-elim leg, but that was not the case. What was up with the Brothers? Why did they finish so far ahead of the other teams? Was it just beacuse they followed the cab? I would have been surprised if they had not gotten the penalties or at least one. Hiding the pump was a dirty trick, but did the other teams even know there was sapose to be a pump there? I think I missed that. Asking the cab driver to show them the way was a dumb move. Another case of a team not reading the directions? It was nice to Thailand again and Homemade is correct...the heat is unlike anything we have here. It's not just the high temps, but it's also the high humidity as well as the sun. Being closer to the equator, the sun is strong and hot. You need gills to breathe. Next week in Bangkok, away from the ocean, will be ever worse. I've been dehydrated in Bangkok. It's not fun and it happens fast. You need to drink lots and lots of water. It will be interesting to see how they handle the traffic and the smells of the city. Flamiey...you are right about the two girls and that poor man with all the drawers. They were so rude. No need to yell at the poor guy. Did you notice his wife...standing at the end of the counter...laughing at them? We're getting down to the last few teams...who will make it to the end? It's a good one... sooey

Gosh, lets see if I remember this. The sisters got to the mat just ahead of Victor & Tammy. But, sisters could not be checked in because they did not have their travel documents. They had to go back to the boat yard, get their stuff then, back to the finish mat. Michael & Mark decided to go back for their back packs before they did the challange. They used most of their money on the taxi back to the boat yard and then back to the location of the challange. They got to the challange, finished it and headed to the Temple where the finish mat was. They did not have enough money to pay the full taxi fare so they gave some of their own personal 'stuff' to the taxi driver as payment. They got to the mat before the sisters returned but, got the time penalty, 4 hours?, because they used there own stuff as payment. The sisters got back to the mat, were checked in as the 4th team to arrive, no other penality. Michael & Mark were then checked in as the last team to arrive but, it was an non elimination leg of the race. The catch is, on the next leg of the race they will have extra stuff to accomplish. Plus, there was time left on their penality after the girls returned, that time, about 30 minutes (?) will be added to their start time. They will start the next leg of the race last, plus what ever was left on their penality. OK, Kids...did I get that right? sooey

We finally got around to watching it. We had it recorded on the DVR. What a weird way to get rid of a character. Why not have him move away or something. Why did they end it that way? It really depressed me. Clare

I binge watched a few seasons of TWD when my friend told me about the show. I was captivated from the first episode and now I'm a HUGE fan. The premier the other night was great. Can't wait for Sunday nights just to watch. I also like Fear the Walking Dead. That show can only get better, IMO. Interested to see where this season goes as well as the new characters in TWD. While watching, I was amazed at how many extras they had to transform into zombies. The director, while on the Talking Dead show, said it was over 1,000 people but like looked like a lot more than that. I am not generally a zombie fan, and, I agree the show isn't about the zombies but rather, the characters, which is probably why I enjoy it so much.

I hate them anymore...not into hip hop and that's what it seems to be all about now. I usually record it so I can skip past the stuff I dopn't want to see, but I didn't bother this year. I saw the higlights on the news this morning...did Tina Turner look heavy to any of you? I saw a quick glimps of her and she looked like she put on some weight.

I watched part of it. I don't like hip-hop, but I am a Pop fan so I did like some of the performances. I thought the band was way too loud though on all the songs. I would have liked to have heard the artist's voice.

I agree that Jerry Lee did look ill and Miley looked older than she really is. I didn't mind Winehouse's songs, but I kept thinking she was going to pull up her dress or something..she was almost doing the crotch-grabbing thing some of the guys do. She did seem genuinely surprised and happy to have won though.

I liked the song Kayne West did for his Mom. It actually made me a little teary.

I thought the Beatle's tribute was wierd. Maybe I just didn't get it?

Overall I think I would have enjoyed the show if the band hadn't been blaring over the artist's voice on every song.

I gave up watching them years ago, since rap and hip-hop became such a big part of it. The only reason I've heard of most of the performers is because I read People magazine and watch Entertainment Tonight!

I like a lot of the newer music and performers and didn't particularly like the Jerry Lee Lewis performance. I thought Tina Turner looked like she was lip syncing and could have worn something more flattering (and I know she's 68.) I was very diasppointed that Amy Winehouse won anything.I read in a magazine that Mily Cyrus had a "makeover"...she just turned 15, for goodness sakes!

I told DH that I want Andre Bocelli to sing "The Prayer" at my funeral.

That's funny, I was walking with ny neighbor this morning, and I was telling him that I must be getting old, cause I don't seem to know or like anything they had on.
We only watched a little. I didn't even know that was Mylie Cyrus, she looked so different.
That Beatle thing was very weird.
I heard that Kanye West said some bad things about the others in his category, kinda tacky if he did.

I am not only going to sound old I am old ! I never watch anymore because I don't have any idea who some of those singers are. I would have liked to have seen Keely Smith as I always liked her duets with Louie Prima. Now that was a long time ago.....

I started to watch it and then realized how old I am. I can't stand hip hop and didn't recognize the names of any of the entertainers so I switched channels.

I didn't bother to even watch them last night...too much rap and hip hop for this old lady......At my age,I only watch the shows that I enjoy,and the grammy's haven't been all that interesting for me in the past few years.

I tried to,but i just can't get into them anymore.Call me old fashioned,but that stuff they call music leaves a lot to be desired.There were a few people i would have like to have seen,but didn't want to waste my time watching all the other junk to do it.JMO

I watched it off and on. I was disappointed in most of it too. I love Amy Winehouse...however, the 2 songs she sang last night do not sound like the Amy Winehouse I love to listen to. I will continue to listen to my CDs however. I didn't get the Beatles thing either. I thought Kanye was a little on the rude side also.

Maybe I missed all the good parts, by trying to surf and watch the Grammy Awards. Hmmmm, so much for me multi tasking. LOL
