I'm very happy with the items that I order

I don't watch QVC since they dropped all the scrapbook shows and also changed the hosting style to lots of blather with no real information. I still record the Valerie Parr Hill shows, but I watch them on mute and fast forward just to see the decorating ideas. The only thing I buy from them are holiday decor items and flameless candles. Some years, they have some clever things that I don't see other places. Some years, they don't.

I really have to like something to order it, though, because their shipping and handling charges can be too much when compared to other vendors who offer free shipping.

i do order from them but not nearly as much as I used to. I normally only get things like Bare Escentuals, Philosophy, brushes for my Clairisonic, Mally Beauty, occassionally a Tignanello bag. I will order from them when they have a good deal on something I would get anyway or if they have a value sized product I want. For most other things i think their shipping charges are ridiculous. I have never ever had a problem w anything from them... ~ liz

I don't watch shows, but check web site. Most things are to high or shipping is out of line for me, but like today free shipping and a ok price I ordered a new cordless iron. The same go's for HSN also.

I've only ever bought a couple of things from them. I can usually match their prices elsewhere and get what I really want, rather than what they are hawking. It's funny, but when my cable provider Comcast, QVC's channel was right next to PBS and the major networks, so I would stop and see what they were pushing at the moment. Now I switched to Verizon and QVC is off on the hinterlands of channels over number 99 and I rarely venture there, as silly as that sounds (except HGTV, which I watch too much).

Dropped cable and satellite about 10 years ago so I don't see QVC anymore. I used to enjoy some of the shows and bought a few things. Rather expensive so I wouldn't buy much. At first I didn't have to pay sales tax but they changed that and the tax is higher than our state sales tax, plus the shipping which is pretty spendy. I did order a couple things off the website since dropping cab/sat but haven't had any interest for a long time now.

Plus I'm careful about ordering from them since returns can be expensive too. You don't get shipping refunded and you have to pay return shipping. There's times that could be more than the item cost!

I've purchased several tops that are appropriate for my worklife (they're knit, but they are one step up from casual, but not too businessy). Liked almost all except for a couple that were just a shade off from what would've been perfect.

I think twice before ordering nowadays because of the return costs, as Cynic posted, and just the general hassle of packing things up and getting to the P.O.

I haven't bought anything except clothes from them in a long time, altho I do keep an eye online on handbags, cuz I've been looking for "just the right one"!

The merchandise is certainly of a higher class (cost, obviously; quality, I can't speak of) mixed among other stuff now. Apple products, many lines of high-end bags (not just Dooney/Burke anymore), a lot of electronics.

Between QVC and HSN years ago, I've spent too much money on return-postage alone, so I'd rather spend time driving to stores near me for the hands-on test.

I have gotten some really great stuff from QVC. I've also gotten a few things that went back.

I live in an area with not much to offer in the way of shopping. We have no Target or WalMart and the closest mall is 25 miles away. Our area is also on the expensive side so the prices on QVC look good to me.

I order Mrs. Prindaball's (sp) apples at Christmas which I love and I have also gotten some fun kitchen stuff. I have tried Susan Graver with about a 35% success rate. I just sent back two SG tops yesterday and it cost me $8.00 so I do not order unless I think it's a sure bet...that only works 35% of the time.

But even with the s&h and the cost of gas plus my time, I figure it's a wash even if I have to return an item. I would say that I order between 5 & 10 items a year from QVC.

I have never watched QVC or HSN. Anything I want to buy, I either buy locally or through Amazon or other specialty websites. I don't impulse purchase, which is what those tv shows try to get you to do. If I don't watch those stations, no temptation.

Yes I love the convenience, the shipping costs are getting out of control and the pricing is getting a bit high on some items that you know you could find in a brick and mortar store at a lower price.
So I pick and choose more carefully now.

For those of you ordering Philosophy, bath/facial/makeup products from QVC, I've found much better prices at the Derm Store, always with free shipping, and they always send you samples of things with each purchase.

I forgot to mention that I shop on QVC.com; I don't watch the shows. So there's really no impulsive buying for me -- I take my time on the website (usually in the middle of the night!). Sometimes I know right away that something's a color I need or the sizing I'm familiar with; other times, if I'm on the fence I write the item # down and think about it while I check the Kohls near me to see if there's anything similar or at a better price.
