Any one watch the series 'Lost' ?

We have been watching the series "Lost", on sunday nights for awhile now. We are lost ourselves in what is going on.

Did I miss the first episode or what. It is a good series but so hard to follow. Where is this Island, how did they get there, are these people in between worlds or what? Any help?

Dena, I remember when my DH was laid off. Even though he hated the job he was laid off from, it was very difficult for both of us, anyway. I hope your DH ends up with a better job, and things go well for you. I'll keep you both in my thoughts and prayers. BTW, my DH found a job he liked much better, but paid a fraction of what he was making before. In the end, the happiness in the job is much more important than the money. I forgot about Libby being in the hospital with Hurley. I'm sure this is all leading up to a big season finale cliffhanger, but what can they do to top what they've done so far? I didn't pay any attention to that clue thing. It's a gimmick for the local news station and their sweeps. I don't watch that channel much any more for news since they've gotten a lot more trashy than they used to, and I like Kristine Kahanek's (sp?) weather reports the best. Sally

We watch it and really enjoy it. I was afraid that it had been cancelled because it was so long between seasons. I see that they changed the name this season. Last season I think it was just The Exterminators. I think he is funny and he really seems educated about the different animals that he catches.

I look forward to Thursday night and LOST all week. But I think they better give me some answers soon because I am getting really frustrated. The episode where Desmond jumps between 2 time periods was really stretching it. And that wasn't even a flash forward or backward. My son announced after that show aired that he was afraid LOST had "jumped the shark" If you're unfamiliar with that phrase, here's how Wikipedia describes it......"The term jumping the shark alludes to a specific scene in a 1977 episode of the TV series Happy Days when the popular character Arthur "Fonzie" Fonzarelli literally jumps over a shark while water skiing. The scene was so preposterous that many believed it to be an ill-conceived attempt at reviving the declining ratings of the flagging show. Since then, the phrase has become a colloquialism used by U.S. TV critics and fans to denote the point at which the characters or plot of a TV series veer into a ridiculous, out-of-the-ordinary storyline. Such a show is typically deemed to have passed its peak. Once a show has "jumped the shark" fans sense a noticeable decline in quality or feel the show has undergone too many changes to retain its original charm" I don't think Lost has gone that far, but I am a little worried. We tape LOST while we watch it because my son works Thursday nights. So I watch it again on Friday when he's home and it helps me follow along.

I'm not much of a tv series watcher like I used to be. Our son tells us that we should watch The Americans, because it is very (scarily) realistic in how other hostile countries infiltrate here. Maybe. I do enjoy Big Bang Theory and am looking forward to it's spin-off, Young Sheldon. And, I'm anxiously awaiting the next season of Designated Survivor, which I love and do watch every week. Other than that, I don't watch much tv these days, except for the morning and evening news, and some HGTV (mainly Property Brothers and Fixer Upper). Right now, DH and I and rewatching the tv miniseries, John Adams, which we own. It is so incredibly well-done . . . just fantastic!

We love the show and have been watching since the beginning - it is now on the sixth season.

The acting, stories and relationships are great, and we remind ourselves that we're not supposed to be able to figure out all of the mysteries -- that's the point!

We are still unsure where the island is. There seems to be a place next to the underground hatch where a force, atomic parhaps, is causing a time warp of sorts. Sometimes the plane crash victims and other island dwellers are in the '50s, the '70s or the present. It's hard to keep track.

Most of the characters have a past connection to one or more of the other characters. Some of these encounters happened shortly before they took the plane flight, some as long ago as childhood.

Each week they show a repeat of last week's program with additional explanations at the bottom of the screen making plot connections. Then they show the new episode. We find it helpful to watch both.

You forget the link?? My DD(13) just loves the show. We bought her several 'Lost" items for her birthday yesterday. She went to school this morning wearing a Lost shirt and brought a steel Dharma water bottle! She plans to dress as a Dharma worker for halloween!

I have been a fan the whole time. I think all of the questions the OP asked will not be answered until the series finale, which is this May.

My own personal thoughts are that this show is a modern day retelling of Milton's epic poem, Paradise Lost. But since I have been wrong in my guesses by about 75% of what this show is about, I am probably completely wrong, LOL.

I've watched from the get go and I can't believe their gonna wind this show up in 8 more episodes...last nights flipped me out...I had never even thought of that scenario!

If you haven't watched the show from the beginning you will be "Lost". My husband has asked me to explain whats going on, I told him to rent the older shows from the video store. There is no way to explain this show. I do enjoy the show, can't wait for the end when all will be explained. Just hope we are not disappointed.

Some of those episodes which show people connecting with other people who were on the flight, actually are showing what would have happened if the plane had not crashed -- meaning how things would have gone if the plane landed safely in L.A.

There were some strange religious indications years ago and now it appears that there are some beleifs/powers portrayed. Those things are really confusing and the writers can take them any direction yet.

Some times I just wonder WHY I watch it -- but I do!
