The last thing I posted was that I thought LazyPup would be back quoting Mark Twain that his death had been greatly exagereated - but that was not to be. I, in no way, meant that to be a nasty post. LP had been such a character, that it seemed possible, but know we know it is not to be.

The moderators of the site do that. And they have the right to do as they wish, as it IS their site!

Generally, someone has to complain for the thread to be pulled.

I have seen SPAM theads on some GW forums that are there for months...years... So they really don't police the forums. They respond (sometimes) to complaints.

I just read his post this morning--and your reply iowagirl. I don't understand why they would pull that and leave the other post (the one with 150 replies). Maybe someone in him extended family requested it. Just doesn't make any sense to pull OJ's.

If Tamara or someone sees this, I sure hope you will explain.

My 11:30 posting has a link to the cached page of it - but not all of the thread was there when Google crawled the page to cache it.

Iowa's link shows the post which was removed. A second one, not the one where Richard is remembered and numbered 150.

I didn't see anything glaring in it? Probably could've been better, but there are worse which don't get pulled? Maybe the cache doesn't show it all???????? Dunno.

No - there were a few postings after that. My final posting was with the Mark Twain quote (which does not show up in the cached page). I don't know if there was anything after that.

My thoughts are that it was a kind and informative post. So, that is why I was so surprised to see it pulled.

I have noticed much more of the police here reporting threads and having them pulled. Maybe they didn't want anyone to know there was finally proof that he had died. That would have meant some were wrong in their assumptions. Who knows but it has been happening much more recently. Happening on computer help too.
I see no reason that one was pulled either.

Wow I am so far behind,I had no clue that we had lost Lazypup and then his thread...turned into what it turned into. Beyond sad on more than just his passing...

Some time back, a few months ago perhaps, someone (a regular poster) on this site readily (and rather proudly) admitted that she has, in the past, contacted GW on multiple occasions to delete a thread because she thinks it should be deleted.

I don't remember who it was, but either that person or another (1 or more) has been at it again, I fear.

I just keep thinking about how sad Jan must have felt when she read all the negative comments.

I was sad to see that when Richard's son Michael came on and started his own thread thanking for the pictures of his father and also showing his birth certificate (properly blocked) that his entire thread was also pulled. I had made sure to give him directions on how he could search for more of his fathers posts and pictures here on GW but I have no idea if he ever got that info since it was pulled shortly after he posted it. So sad for that young man. Those were the first pictures he had seen of his father and I really would love for him to have all of the Frog pictures that were posted. I fear he would not attempt to come back here though.

As those of you who know me know, and as attested by my posts on the original thread, that degenerated into crabbiness, I meant no disrespect of Richard ... or his memory.

I'd be sad if some of his family members saw the post that I originated and were hurt by it.

As for the folks here ... well, if some of them were perturbed ... I guess they can stay perturbed.

RC - why was the post from LP's son deleted? I don't understand any of this. When Jan first posted about LP's death, I followed along for a day or two so I was never aware until the past couple of days what direction that thread had taken. I saw OJ's post and don't understand why that thread was removed either. Yet, Jan's announcement with some ugly responses remains.

I meant to add in my ealier post, thanks, Iowagirl (Iowa girls are often a special lot: I married one) for linking to the post that I originated, as it enabled me to read some of the later posts on the thread.

I have no idea why Michaels thread was removed, he was thanking for the pictures, I believe Joann, posted of his father since they were the first time he had seen him. Very sweet of him.

Ditto Moonie, OJ. You did nothing nothing wrong. The ways of the KT can't always be explained.

There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to the posts that get pulled. Early on in the changeover one could let it go as they work their way into a new venture but you would think they should have a more professional handling by now.

When I see threads I want preserved I'll often save them. Many are good for laughs down the road.

OJ you have nothing to worry about, you were totally in the right. If you didn't get a "friendly reminder" with at least a canned explanation then you were not at fault. I saw nothing in there that could warrant removal. But I've seen others pulled without a rational reason too.

I didn't think the title of the post was very nice, but it was OJ's style, his humor, and I don't think the thread should've been removed for that.

Hum.... I didn't see anything wrong with the Title nor the posts. Perhaps, it was my post. It had the word "bullying". That could have triggered someone's ego. But hey, it is what it is.

As to the title, I thought that it was somewhat improper, but figured that changing the Richard to Dick ... and both that and the "dead" beginning with "d", and being four-letter words, that it fit.

And - it certainly targetted a good(?) portion of the conversation in the other thread.

And I thought that there was some poetic justice in the confirmation being the last word - thought that would make Richard laugh!

On the next day, I could access the site ... but when I tried to open the box to make a comment ... I was rejected.

I went to my emails, to see whether I'd received another "gentle reminder" ... but no such message was evident.

I wondered about writing to Tammy to request info, or object, etc.

... and wondered about signing in with another name, supposing that I might be allowed. - but didn't.

On the following day, I could access as usual, so wonder what was going on. I haven't heard of someone being blocked for a day, and with no explanation, so it may have been some glitch in the system (probably was).

Of such is life, I guess.

Thanks OJ. Funny how it is on this forum. Every little thing would tick someone off and would be pulled out.

I belong to City Data forum and oh boy, we talk about everything and anything. There have been politics, religions and race topics too. Although, I tend to stay away from these topics unless, their general topics. The discussions have been controversial at times but most, if not all, discuss them quite maturely. If there was any post that went overboard, that only post is deleted.

The forum is closely monitor and once in awhile, the mod would jump in and remind everyone to be friendly. Then, the discussion continues.

LOL, there are a few members that are well known to jump in and cause trouble. We just ignore their posts totally and don't comment on their posts. Eventually, they give up and just leave. You're an angel comparing to these ones OJ.

Personally, I don't see any of your comments being overboard. They're just bluntly the truth, nothing is wrong with that :)
