Jeri, you were not late, just right on time. And besides, at my age late is fine. Thanks My dear Sue of the beautiful smile and bestest oodles thank you and I can't wait to see you in May. Krista, I worked yesterday, but I had a fabulous weekend filled with friends and wonderful food. Thanks. Florence, you are the best and we all appreciate you on this site. Probably easier to forgive then to forget the scars. My Dad literally walked away when I was 12, and if he had is way, we never would have found him. I persisted because I loved my Dad. Hi wife, now my step-mom, although deep down, has a good heart, I think (I know, for sure) has some emotional baggage that she will never leave behind. They both are now in nursing home care and neither can take care of themselves. That whole scenario has been impossible, but thanks to another relative, they are safe and are receiving proper care. That said, when things got very tough, when trying to seek care for them, it became a matter of my deciding that I still needed to care, as I always thought I did. That really tested me though. Through the years,although I know he began to feel something for my sister and me, I know my SM would prefer is we weren't in the way. I can't tell you how difficult that is - when I want my Dad, I remember the turmoil I'll have to go through to get to him. And now, even if I could, he wouldn't understand because his altzheimer's is so bad. He still knows who I am, and is still VERY smart, but that's about all there is. That is so hard to get over, no matter how hard I try. That's somehting I think you never get over. After a while, it gets pushed back into you mind, but on some days, it's right out there with "what am I wearing today". I pray you have better times trying to cope with this, and also the loss. I always remember your birthday because mine is the day after. Hope that you have a wonderful day today. Mine will be busy cleaning and getting ready for the birthday party DH is having for me tomorrow. Some party, I have to clean house, but everyone is bringing the snacks for the football game tomorrow night so that is fine with me...Go Huskers:)

Thank you all for your birthday wishes. And Joe for your Poem. That was so sweet of you.

It has been one of those weeks, what with a toothache and being on antibiotics so I didn't much feel like celebrating either our anniversary (our 29th) or my birthday (#56). The champagne is still in the fridge waiting for another day.

Last night we made a run down to Victoria to Home Depot. Moe needed a new drill. Costco and my favourite new wine store are in the same area so killed a few birds with one stone. Dinner ended up being a quick burger and fries at Harveys. A fast food burger joint.

Thankfully the tooth has eased up, which is a good thing since my appointment with the specialist isn't until September 17th.

Prime Rib is on the menu tonight.

Well, you can tell I wasn't on the computer at all yesterday, or I wouldn't have missed this. I hope your birthday was wonderful ,Ann. Sounds like it was low key.

I can't believe you are 56. After seeing your picture, I would have guessed ten years younger, no lie. Twenty nine years married -- good for you!

Well, I'm late, but wish you a very happy Birthday! It sounds like you're about to really celebrate with Prime Rib on the menu. I think this would be a good year to drag out the birthday celebration, if you know what I mean!
