maytag bravos mvwb850 washer & medb850 dryer
Comments (9)The salesman is correct ... Maytag products that changed to Whirlpool production did so after the company purchase, of course. Why would such a change happen before the purchase? The Bravos line is a member of the Oasis/Cabrio family and was the last of that trio introduced to the market. Kenmore Oasis was first, then Whirlpool Cabrio, then Bravos. They're all of the same mechanical design, initially based on Fisher & Paykel's SmartDrive motor mechanism. Whirlpool recently introduced a new belt-drive mechanical design to replace their 25+ years-old direct-drive/transmission agitator mechanism. This new mechanism can also be used for HE-impeller machines ... which some low- and mid-line Cabrio and Bravos models are using it, while a couple high-end models (such as the Whirlpool Vantage) are still based on SmartDrive....See MoreDistinct oder / wrinkles from washer/dryer combo???
Comments (7)One of my washers is w/d combo and I did not have the smell at all. Actually my laundry had the fresh outdoor smell when done( I miss it). When it comes to wrinkless, the drum size is not big enough to accomodate load when drying. Dry laundry expands and needs more room. That's why normal dryer drums are much bigger than the ones in washers. From my experience, anything big like sheets, either wash half size loads or dry one full load in stages. It is pain b/c it takes forever. Other options, take some pieces out when damp and hang it over cloth line, hangers ,chair etc. to let it dry out with less wrinkles. Something like shirts, definatelly it helps to hang them damp on hangers and iron them when damp too. I don't use the condensing dryer much. I had to replace drying heater after one year, mine has two heaters,(one for water heating too), condenser has to be cleaned on regular basis and it take over 2 hours to dry towels. I love the convenience too but it's o.k. for one person. Love the washers heater, it goes to 196. If you mix loads, like lite and heavy items, it will help too....See MoreDo TL HE Washers Wrinkle Clothes More than FL HE Washers?
Comments (22)My Maytag Bravos washer has a Wrinkle Control cycle which I use for the great majority of our nicer office and church clothes. I use the Delicates cycle for more delicate fabrics and the Hand Wash cycle for the most delicate fabrics and sweaters. I use the Medium spin with the Wrinkle Control cycle and the Slow spin with the Delicates and Hand Wash cycle. When I wash towels and jeans/T-shirts, I use the normal wash cycles and fast spin. I haven't yet had ANY problem with wrinkling OR tangling. I have found the main way to prevent wrinkles in jeans is not to overload the machine (which is emphasized in the manual). My washer does not have an agitator; it has an impeller. The clothes come out much cleaner than they did in my former conventional TL's....See MorePurchased a new washer - Maytag Bravos XL steam MVWB755DW
Comments (14)Perhaps that is why we haven't run into any problems. I watched videos on how to use the HE TLs and downloaded the user guide onto my phone before even buying the machine. 45 minute drive home, so plenty of time to read though it and the installation guide before we ever even unloaded it. I think reading the reviews and really paying attention to the negatives was key as well - we knew what not to do or what to figure out the proper way to do. Piling clothes in loose heaps with nothing in the middle seemed to be key. Like I say, we've done quite the variety of loads and haven't had a single problem. And I don't necessarily sort. Room in the load and I have one dirty towel - throw it in, too! Jeans with undies and dress shirt - the more the merrier! I'm going to load it properly, use the correct amount of detergent, set the machine right, and then I am not going to mess with it again until the load is done. So far, this machine is letting me do that just fine. (Doing a soak or pre-rinse is excluded - I don't mind that type of 2-step process.)...See Moremara_2008
