I replaced my out of warranty Miele dw with F & P tall dd and love them. I had read about the problems and did purchase the extended warranty. I bought the dw locally and my installer assured me that he had installed LOTs of them and felt that most of the problems were due to installation errors. He seemed very confident during the installation as I watched him like a hawk. My dd has not given me any problems so far and I love being able to run small loads frequently. Sometimes I run my top drawer twice a day. I love having two cutlery bins. Occasionally a dirty piece of cutlery is left but that's about it. No way that my dd is as quiet as the Miele that it replaced but it is still not too loud. Perhaps, that is because it is in a space that is smaller than 24", since my Miele required a smaller space. The noise is not annoying. I would not hesitate to recommend the F/P dd. I love not having to bend over to load the top drawer and have to remind myself to use the bottom at least every few days.

Shoot. Phone auto corrected. What I meant to say is that I need to approve the cabinet drawings soon so if there are changes I need to make them quickly. Autumn, I don't know 100% what I would put there as the main reason I wanted the drawer there was so I can set something on the counter in front of it and so open the door, like a stack of plates or a couple bowls, etc. Things that comes to mind are flatware or take out menus. Not large bowls or Tupperware or anything like that.

It was saved in my "storage" bookmarks but we decided not to use it b/c we decided to keep our dishes in upper cabs.
