It was so nice to check in this morning and read all the nice comments from you all. THANK YOU so much! I am praying that all of you who need rain will get it soon. It has been so hot and dry here too and dragging the extra-long chain of garden hoses around from garden to garden is getting tedious and tiresome. I do so love all my gardens but I realize I am in over my head right now. I was not surprised that many of you chose 'Marietta Warrior' as a favorite. John Shooter sent me that one as a bonus and looking at the photo of it I wasn't all that thrilled by it (but happy because I would never spend $75 on a daylily...haha). Then it bloomed....and it was instant love and amazement. It has to be seen in person to fully appreciate it. The red is so bright and the shape is circular, with that dramatic green eye. It looks much bigger than the 6 1/2 inches it measures. I wisely planted it in the border by the road and I have had people pull their cars over to get a better look. Some have asked what 'kind of flower' it is and when I tell them it's a daylily they don't believe me because the only daylilies they have seen are ditch lilies or Stella...LOL. Mantis...the huge tree with all the trunks is a white pine. It is enormous and unfortunately shades my gardens but it would be too expensive to have someone remove it, especially so close to the power lines. I have a lot of huge trees because my property was all wooded when I moved here. Jean...I will give 'Wonder of it All' another year to shape up. It's my husband's favorite (even though I have to drag him out to look at my flowers). It's one of the only ones that is in full sun so I don't know what more I can do to get it to open better. I will make sure to include photos of the kitty family in my next post. Once again, I appreciate your taking the time to comment as I know we are all busy lately. Celeste

Isn't it a law or something they have to be late? And dress for the part...what's that? For us, living in a small community has its benefits when service people are involved. Poor work usually means they DON'T get business just by word of mouth. On the other hand it may take quite a bit of time before a good service person is available. It took all winter for the furnace to be put in but they did a fine job, we are pleased. If we have an emergency, they are here fairly fast. It's to bad the septic service didn't work out. An hour in your case was a pain in the butt but an hour isn't so bad considering the job they are doing. If you were their first service job though, I would say you had every right to be upset. I still wonder, could the traffic be a problem or cell service? Were they behind in a prior job? I think it would be good if you and this company, if they could negotiate a time better for both of you. You mention going to the doctor. How many of us have sat and waited for them? I know I have.

Bumble - Thanks for posting photos of your room. It's very pretty! I love the red and white bedding and those plates. Hey Rrs! I had a bunch of different bedroom threads over the last few weeks so I'll recap on everything... I kept the last red coverlet. Haven't found a mirror or any art. I moved my nightstand to DH's side and have a round table on mine. Santa is bringing me a burlap tablecloth so I'm excited about that. I still need to get a glass top. Since I lost my storage, I bought a neat basket for under the bed but getting organized seems to be a bit challenging for me. I'll be tackling that head on during the new year. I'm going to paint the room SW Dromedary Camel probably in a few months. No change with curtains. I'm leaning towards something brown and machine washable but I should probably paint first. I now have a larger floral pillow to replace the one that's on the bed but I'd like to get a fluffier insert. Feather maybe? The smaller pillow that was on the bed in the photos above now sits on the web chair in the corner of the room. I was considering moving the chair out and getting a bench for in front of the window but I'm thinking it will take up too much space. I need to do a mock up with something. I'm not sure if I talked about the bathroom in this thread but, just to recap in one spot, I'm still planning on using the floral fabric for the window valance. The shower curtain is on hold until more of the original fabric comes in. So the floral fabric will be on the valance part and the body will be a smaller houndstooth. I decided not to use that calico corner plaid or the one from house fabrics. Both I think would compete too much with the floral and be too busy for me. Didn't paint the bathroom vanity or walls yet. See the original houndstooth plaid pillows with buttons from the inspiration pic? I accidently stumbled across 3/4 yard of that on fabricguru the other day and ordered it. I still much prefer that fabric and, without going into great detail about my poor experience(s) with NH again, I'll probably have mixed emotions when it shows up but one of two things will happen... 1. I'll be able to add a piece of that wonderful fabric to the bed in a pillow or throw or 2. I'll see red and won't be able to stand looking at it on a daily basis. I'm aiming for #1. But please, please don't somebody go and find a bunch of yardage of the large houndstooth now trying to be nice. I don't want to see it because the pillows (all but the solid red) I have stay. I have too much money invested in this. Heck, it may not work at all but we'll see. The fabric should be here in a few days and I'm pretty excited about it.
