New Speed Queen Top Loader Review
Comments (22)I've seen others reviews by this site, they are universally poor. We've never had stains remain on clothes with our SQ TL. We have never had clothes get tangled in the agitator. When it says 27 minutes to wash, it is 27 minutes. Are they complaining that a heavy duty wash or one with extra spin cycles (or whatever) takes longer? Yes, it is not a time machine, sorry. Spin speed is 710 I think (from memory) - the one downside to our old F&P TL (which was a great machine also) which was 1000 or 1100. That is a negative, but the other complaints from this useless review are without merit as best I can tell. Many of us don't like FL, or HE TL, I would not have either type of machine, it's an agitator TL or nuthin'..........See MoreSpeed Queen Top Loader: Will it Fit in My Laundry Closet?
Comments (6)Yes, that plastic rough in box w/ the valves and drain integrated that is recessed into the wall. How far above the finished floor is the bottom of this box? Under normal situations, with the laundry box built into the wall, the nearest that I can determine is that you need 30.5" of space. 28'' for the washer plus space for the drain hose with only about 1/2" of 'wiggle room'. (Assuming the drain hose is the same diameter on the new washers as my 7 yr. old SQ which appears to be approx. 1.5" diameter.) If the SQ won't work, you can go to AJ Madison's web site and do a search for a washer that will fit. Adjust the search filter using the washer depth function....See MoreTop loader with larger capacity than speed queen?
Comments (8)Back in 1987 I had my first SFH and my washer was a Kenmore 70 Series. I was able to wash a queen size bedspread by using the reset on the water level control and filling it with enough water to saturate it and the results were satisfactory. I had to be involved-making certain it was well washed and well rinsed, but I only washed the spread occasionally, so it was not a chore. Having had two FLs machines I am tired of the balancing issues and 70 minutes plus to do a big load because it takes it 10 minutes or more to finally spin (on medium). I read some articles recently about how to handle washing a king size comforter when the owner's washer won't accommodate it-and the recommendation was to wash it in the bathtub. I think that may be a good solution for me. I will be happy with the SQ capacity for my normal laundry. One of the reasons I am buying the analog is just for the reason of being able to use reset on the water level control and add as much water as I want for a specific load. I will try to do a big comforter-and if it does not work out I will come up with an alternative. I guess I should feel ashamed for saying I don't wash the comforter very often-but we use it for decor and not as actual bedding....See MoreSpeed Queen Top Loaders
Comments (10)Thanks! Looks like the new TR model removes the induction motor and other features and there's now less advantage to buying one versus other brands. Open to recommendations. What I'm looking for is a top load (agitator or non agitator ok) with full water cycles washes and rinses (fills the entire tub with water for wash and rinse) that's gentle on clothes. Not up to reprogramming machine or circuit board to override factory setting like some folks do. Looks like what I want is a Speed Queen AWNE92SP113TW01 and gas version of the Speed Queen ADE3SRGS173TW01. In other words a 2016 or early 2017 pre changes model. But those will be tough to find. Thanks!...See Moreemma
