And the good news is that there has been no change in size or shape of this thing on my eye. It's been about 4 months since they found it, so we decided to have a check up in 4 months from today. I'm an "interesting" case! lol Usually lymphomas and melanomas on the eye are literally black or white. My spot is gray. No one has a clue! lol So, good news this morning!

I have petscan rescheduled for this thursday. Hopefully there will be no more power outages or surges.

Why are people being so lazy with words? lol

you aren't doing a tile install, you are doing a tile installation! The dress doesn't fit amazing! The dress fits amazingly! The child didn't GO missing, the child disappeared. It's not, do you want to come with? it's do you want to come with me?

can you tell I'm annoyed today? LOL

First let me say that I hope your unusual eye turns out to be unusual in a healthy way! Good luck with the petscan. BTW, I am always worried about a power outage while getting a mammogram.

I just can't stand the expression "go missing" or "went missing." It's like someone woke up one day and decided to disappear. A child may be missing or is missing, but did not "go" missing, as if "missing" is the name of an activity. "I think I will go jogging today" "I think I will go shopping today" "I think I will go missing today". Huh??

Thank you for giving me the chance to rant about one of my biggest pet peeves. Sadly that expression seems to be more common every day.

I haven't had the challenges you have had in your life and you have every right to be annoyed.
I dislike the very same things.
I had a journalism teacher for four years in high school and I think of her every single day......she taught the way people should be taught. She not only taught grammar but expecting everyone to be the best they could be and more.
For whatever reason, there seem to be few teachers today who teach proper grammar....and life lessons.

Hi Ibuzzell: Why we need roses? Roses is a safe hobby. What if the mother of Sandyhook killer, Nancy Lanza, was into roses rather than guns? There's the true story of a orthopedic surgeon who had a fine gun collection. He was showing them off to the boyfriend of his daughter. That same day, she broke up with him. The boy took one gun from her father's collection, and shot her. She was paralyzed and was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of her life. What if that surgeon was into roses, rather than gun? Unfortunately roses get the bad rap of needing spraying with chemicals ... no one want to bother with that. I have to spray my shower stall with vinegar or hydrogen peroxide to kill mold, and it's the most unpleasant task. Thank God I don't have to spray my 45+ own-root roses. People don't realize that the German chemical giant Bayer makes other crop-control products, and NOT just for roses. 94 million acres of corn are planted with seeds treated with pesticides. There's also the Oberon-insecticides spray for corn. There's a book about fighting cancer written by an M.D. with a brain tumor. He wrote about growing up in France and watching farmers nearby spraying their corn field. There are 3 studies that linked bee decline to Bayer Pesticide. If our crops are sprayed, and if our flowers are sprayed, then how will the bees survive? No flower can smell as good as roses, I grow plenty of fragrant flowers: peonies, lilacs, daffodils, gardenia .... and none of them can match the beauty of roses either. Below is a hedge of Carefree Celebration at the rose park, after October frost. They spray, and I don't see any bees among their 1,200 roses. A home inspector is a must for buying used houses, but IMO, finding third party contractors to review the work is a better bet. After framing is complete, get a structural engineer to review your house plan and the framing. This can be costly, maybe as much as $400-500, but they're qualified to opine, whereas a home inspector is not really qualified. Also bring a 4+ft level around and make sure there aren't any bows in the walls. Then bring in a seperate plumber and electrician when the rough-ins are finished. Most will charge about $100 an hour, maybe a service call fee as well (gas prices). You could also bring in an HVAC contractor. Get a seperate roofer to review. Maybe have the local rep for your window manufacturer come out and review that install. You might want to review the manufacturer's install instructions and watch a few being installed. I've listed over a $1,000 worth of "inspectors", here, so I understand if you call me crazy, but my order of competence is: Engineer followed by a Contractor followed by a GC followed by Building Inspector (only cause they're overworked and miss things) followed by a Home Inspector No offense to Home Inspectors, but most are a jack of all trades, master of none. Not what you need for a new construction phased inspection.

I'll tell you my terrible experience with Versed. After being induced and laboring for 2 days it was decided to do a c-section. It was the worst thing in the world. The Versed, knocked me out, but I was awake and couldn't tell them. I felt the complete c-section from beginning to end. In my mind I was telling them how much it hurt and to stop and do something, but my husband and Doctor and nurses all said that I didn't say anything during the surgery. Afterwards they told me that I was dreaming it and that I couldn't have felt anything. When I met with the Anisthesiolgost before my second c-section they told me that The Versed probably knocked out my communication skills and made it so that I couldn't communicate. I was so freaked out about having a 2nd c-section that I told my husband if I started blinking my eyes that I could feel what they were doing. Well I didn't feel anything but when They did the spinal for the c-section they did it too high and it affected my diaphram. I was having a hard time breathing, and the only thing that they could give me was Versed, I refused and told them instead just to sit by my head and remind me to breath. I am glad someone posted this and that I am not the only one with a reaction. When ever they ask about allergies, Versed is first on my list. Stacie

I too have a beautiful shepard-husky mix named Ebony who is 14 years old. I looked at your web site a story of Angel and Wolfy. Your wolfy looks so much like my Ebony (Ebby). I talked about putting my girl down 3 weeks ago but didn't/couldn't do it. I would look into her face with her beautiful brown eyes staring back at me and decided it still wasn't time yet. My neighbor would say' don't you think it's time? I thought, sure she is walking a little slower and doesn't eat that well but I don't think it is time yet. I took her to the vets the middle of May and she gave me medicines for her arthritis and also to stimulate her appetite but neither helped much at all. Over the past week and especially since yesterday I now know it is time. She can't stand up for long in one posistion. She has fallen over several times. Prior to that, the past several weeks she has aimlessly walked in circles not knowing what she is doing or where she is going. She has drank some water today but would not eat. She hasn't really eaten very much over the past 2 weeks. Her kidneys have shut down I know ,because she has hardly voided. She doesn't even bark to go outside. She is very listless. I am a hospice nurse. I've seen the same terminal restlessness in my poor Ebby as I have seen many times with my beloved pts. With hospice we have the medicines to help ease the terminal restlessness and the narcotics to ease the pain and/or to help with the shortness of breath. Wouldn't it be great if there were a pet hospice were our beloved pets could die painfree at home with the proper medications and not have to be euthanized. I had to put my cat Purrie down 2 years ago this month. It was very hard but like my Ebony it had to be done. I wouldn't want them to suffer. I hope that I will be okay because I am alreay very sad this week because yesterday was the 1st anniversay of my mothers death from cancer. I don't know why everything has happened in July. I believe that you will know when the time has come for your Wolfy and I pray for you. I am already sick to my stomach and I'm crying rivers knowing what I have to do tomorrow. I wish you the best and hope you will know when it is time so that they will not have to suffer.

I'm glad you had no bad news about your eye, Kat! I'll happily join you in your rant. I'm disgusted by the current trend to turn a verb into a noun. Good grief, is it really more difficult to utter a couple of extra syllables? InstallATION. InvitATION. ConsultATION. And the noun isn't "reveal." It's revelATION. Whewww, I feel better!

I will say a prayer that the eye is not a problem. Good luck with the scan next week - it has to be OK because there are zillions of prayers being said for you. Hugs!

Bad grammar drives me crazy. Unfortunately, most young people are not taught grammar as it was taught when I was in school (in the horse and buggy days). We had to diagram sentences--that made you think about subject, verb, adjective, adverb, etc., and was a valuable tool in the learning process.

I never liked diagramming sentences when I was in school many eons ago ,but at least were taught the basics.
With the advent of the social networking sites it gives you the opportunity to see just how lacking the younger generation is in their language skills.
Example, this one drives me crazy. Oh we could OF gone to the movies. We should OF had pizza. Basics never learned, what a dam shame.

My most unfavorite phrase is "I could care less". Same as "I couldn't care less." And another. If I tell someone "thank you" and they respond "No problem'. The correct response is "You're welcome." Now don't get me started. . .

Until I moved to Iowa,I had never heard anyone say "Do you want to go with?" And now I hear well-educated folks say it. I want to scream "You don't end a sentence with a preposition!"

There are still English teachers out there who are sticklers for proper grammer. My 6th grader has one. He comes homes and complains about her on an almost daily basis. LOL!

With schools not teaching proper grammar and no longer teaching cursive, there may, eventually, be nothing left for teachers to do.

I hope that your eye issue turns out to be benign, Kat. I'll offer some prayers that such be the case ... and that the other issues turn out well.

As for the grammar ... I'd often like to correct people, here, but usually forebear.

As for that "dam" of yours, Gemini ... it's holding back a flood of ... frustration? ... at the bad grammer (or, is that "grammar"?)?

well hold on for this one....in Lancaster County PA a VERY (one of many) common phrase used when something is empty is "It's all."

As in" "could you pass the carrots?"
"They're all." (as in all gone!)

I hope your eye continues to improve!
