Under eye shadows

Of course, the older I become the worse my under eye shadows seem to be.

I have used the typical wind up wand type creams on a stick, but does anybody have any suggestions for under eye creams that mask shadows?

I use Olay age defying cream to help keep my eye area moist, but I suffer so from dry skin.

by 10 am in the morning I look like I used chalk under my eyes, and it really ages me.

Anything out there that is a bit on the oily side that may help here? I do use powder to set my under eye fix, maybe I should stop?

Do you mean dark circles under your eyes? I have that problem too. I'm not sure what to do about it.

I'd use an eye cream 1st, then use a concealer cream instead of a stick. They're more pliable so to speak. I bought one from Ulta recently, it's a palette of different colors. One is a yellow base which neutralizes the blue of under eye circles. There's also a green for redness,a flesh toned and a setting powder. Rub your fingertip over the pan a bit to warm up the product, then PAT (very important) on the yellow with your fingertips, it really doesn't look yellow on, but it works wonderfully. Then blend with the flesh color and the set with the powder. For me it doesn't get cakey at all.

Physicians Formula makes yellow & green based concealers but they stink IMO.

I used to have V E R Y dry skin. I finally got that under control with daily exfoliating and certain cleansers & creams.

Sephora has a good line of brushes, you should experiment in person on your hand to see which one you need ; I have one cut on an angle that I like to apply the shadow in the crease of the eye, I tap it well so it doesn't put too much shadow right away. I've also had good success with brushes I found at the drugstore, less expensive.

Don't give up, Dejavue! Where there's a will, there's a way. I've been doing a lot of Googling lately but I wish I could find an imformative little booklet or chart or something. One thing I'm learning for sure and that is to use a brush. I always tried to use those terrible little sponges, and when that got too frustrating, I started using my finger. Even with what little I know, I'm finding that the brushes make all the diff in the world. I'm like a pre-teen kid, eagerly experimenting each day with my shadow trios. Some days I show up at work looking almost decent And some days, well ahem... Anyway, if I find something really good, I'll be sure to share with you. âºSue

I don’t do bronzer, mostly because I am what would be called porcelain complected and bronzer makes me look like I’ve gotten dirty. I apply 50+spf religiously, avoid spending time out in the 11-3pm direct sun, and don’t particularly care about the comments that I am blinding people with my pale skin like I did as a child. I am as the universe (and it’s creator) designed me to be and if it’s good enough for the universe that’s good enough for me. Still love a plum purple smokey eye for evening/night, brings the green in my blue green grey with gold flecked eyes. Lazy day makeup is charcoal liner applied along the underside/waterline in tiny vertical strokes between my upper lashes no mascara (the new version of no makeup makeup), Anastasia Beverly Hills brow whiz or dip brow, and voila. I haven’t had any chemical treatment on to my hair since mid-July, had it cut to just below my shoulders back in April 2017, grew back pretty fast and I know I will need to get to a salon soon-ish. I wanted to see what color my roots actually are, when I was 16 I imagined dyeing my hair brown, red or black for the rest of my life and didn’t think that would change. My roots are still blonde, I thought by now my hair would finally have darkened up like most blondes do in their 30’s, definitely when close approaching their 40’s but nooooooo, not even up to 10% grey yet either. Getting a filtered shower head has helped the hard water problem with both hair and skin. We simply can’t do the expense of a water softener system right now.

Feathers, I'm glad you like it! Make sure you shake the tube, did I mention above I didn't do that for a year until I read the directions? :) No, I haven't tried the concealer but will check into it. Need Eye makeup help! So I don't have to do a separate topic I need info on what type of eyeshadow to use for older skin. Matte or Cream? I know to use a primer. Please take a look at this quick Instagram video. I'm much older but our hair, eyes and skin tone are similar. I'm big on the natural look but end up buying the wrong colors. Need pinks and those with red undertones. Do you know of any makeup dupes that are similar, especially the Chanel Stylo Liner #12? I want to look like her

I'm an authority on this one. Try the Estee Lauder concealer. It's the best I've ever had and I've had them all.

I use Bare Escentuals Bisque concealer with their concealer brush. Works great!

Have you tried, Crisco yet? I am not being funny either. A small , pea size amount of good old regular crisco is fast becoming the moistureizer of choice by many. It works , it is not greasy, does not cause zits, blackheads or whatever else may affect your skin.
I use it on my cuticles and as a moisturizer now , since hearing about this for the past couple of weeks.
You will be amazed at how great and soft your skin will feel and the cost is right. Try it you'll, like it.
