I was surfing through them today and noticed one member name that came up 3 different times...all spelled the exact same way. I think part of the problem might be with the 2 different search boxes. If one is told to do a search in the box found at the bottom of the page, they will get all posts for that member on ALL forums. Now as most of us veterans know, if one does a search in the search box found just below the list of 'threads' then the search can be narrowed to just searching the Rate and Review Forum. Possibly we should start a Suggestion (and crusade) to have to search box put up at the top of the page and it be just specifically for search results on the Review Forum. There is a search box at the top at the Pond Forum that will yield only the results for that forum. There is also one at the very bottom of the page which will yield posts for the whole site...very confusing. There was a suggestion about this b4 the Suggestion Box was emptied at the old Suggestion and 'comment' Forum. I agree...it is gonna be a real mess in time. Maybe it would help if when any of us see a second thread started for the same member, we post a link to the second one of them and maybe request that future posts be made to the thread that was started first....or you know what I mean...don't ya? Can you still link to a thread that is beyond page 67? Yes there is. I see pages all the time when I search that "cannot be found" when I click on them.???? hmmm...could you maybe give me an instance? The search feature is 'broken' on some forums, and should be reported. For instance on The Seed Saving Forum one can bring up several threads when one does a search on zinna yet when one clicks on the first one, Saving Profusion Zinnia Seed they will get Whoops! I could not find that message. What one can do then is go to the URL of the Whoops message, and remove the 2 found behind http://forums and then hit enter. The post will then come up. The problem is with the 'forums2' servor on some forums. Here.... is a thread that was at The Test Forum, and it dropped off the one and only page there. Try it. Click on the link, and then go to the top of that page and click on Return to The Test Forum. As you can see, the thread is not listed there, as it dropped off earlier this month. Magic? s

That's a stunner and I would never purposefully have it in my stash. I need to re-think my color choices. I have a bunch of stuff in my stash that when I look at it I say "ugh" but I bet if I made an effort I could make some wonderful quilts. Awhile back I took 2 jelly rolls that someone had given me and made one of those "quilt race" strip quilts with it. One of the rolls were predominantly purples and blacks, the other one was predominately greens and blacks. But I bit the bullet and used them and it came out exactly right for my DIL. I am in a phase where I like all kinds of colors in a quilt (scrappy) but not too much where any are predominant. There are exceptions such as the bear's paw I finished recently, it's all in reds and light tans (unbleached muslin) but as a whole I've been using all kinds of colors together.

I find it ironic, and somewhat insulting, to hear SMs referred to as the "third party". The "third party" theory may be the case when it comes to the SM who only has her SC EOW and a few weeks during the summer. But there are so many of us here who do what these BM should be doing for their own children, and choose not to. They push the responsibilty of the children on the BF, and if he is married, on the SM as well. You can sit there and say that SM should have no say and are nothing more than a "third party", but in what seems most cases on this site, it is the BM who is the "third party". It just burns me that I do everything for my SC, as I do for my DD, everyday of their lives, and I still have to hear from BM that I have no say, a "third party". Thank goodness DH has my back! So before you claim that we SM are "third parties", please consider our roles in these childrens lives. You'll find in alot of cases, we are the only REAL mothers these kids have. I agree that there are many SM who are detrimental to their SC, just as many BM are detrimental to their own kids. But I think a SM has to be given a chance to be a SM before judgement can be passed upon them. I did not have that chance before I was judged by BM. However, BM is the only one who thinks I am a worse "mother" than she is! And please don't think I have anything against BM who care for their children the way a mom should. I too am a BM who has found that it is better for my DD to work with her SM than to try to work against her. She is a part of my DD life whether I like it or not. I don't agree with alot of what she does, but by giving her respect for the role she plays in DD life, we manage to make things smoother for my child. And in the end, it is the happiness of the child that matters most.
