Fisher&Paykel Intuitive IWL16 washer machine
Comments (1)I'm not clear on what is the question/problem. If there is a power failure, the machine does what you describe. It stops immediately when power fails (except see next paragraph). When power returns it displays that message and then continues on with the cycle. There shouldn't be any need to unplug/replug the machine. If the power failure occurs during spin, the SmartDrive motor will act as a generator, keeping the control board powered and the lid locked until it coasts to a stop. When power returns, it'll finish the cycle. You can demonstrate that by pulling the plug during the final spin. If the power failure message displays when you are absolutely certain there has not been an outage or momentary blink on the washer's circuit, then you may be having a problem with the controller board. Electrical surges during a lightning storm can damage it, same as any electronic device. I'd strongly recommend putting a good surge protector on the machine....See MoreFisher & Paykel Washer and Dryer
Comments (35)tinatark said: You can't set a specialty wash to start later. - and - About the dryer, I think the reverse-tumble system should have a time out feature - I've left the house with stuff drying on the wrinkle free cycle - not realizing it - come home hours later and it was still tumbling! The washer's menu doesn't allow scrolling to a Lifecycle, pressing Select, then scrolling the menu back to the Delay Start option? You mean the Wrinkle Free function, not reverse tumble. Reverse tumble occurs every 4.5 minutes throughout the drying cycle, and is not directly related to the Wrinkle Free option. The Wrinkle Free function does time-out after approx 24 hrs. You do understand what the Wrinkle Free option is for, yes? It comes into play at the end of the drying cycle, when the machine would otherwise be done and shut off. If the Wrinkle Free option is enabled, the clothes will be tumbled without heat for about 30 seconds every five minutes to prevent wrinkles that would otherwise occur if the dry clothes were left crumpled and stationary in the drum for an extended period. The end-of-cycle signal beeps after each tumble, reminding the user that the load is actually done and ready to come out. Since you're out of the house and unable to unload, Wrinkle Free is doing exactly what it's supposed to do -- tumbling the clothes periodically until you return so they don't get wrinkled. Most dryers with this feature have it run a maximum of 40 mins to 2.5 hrs, depending on the brand and model. Running it for 24 hrs is one of F&P's unique features for clothes care and convenience of the user. Wrinkle Free is enabled by default on several cycles (Easy Iron, Delicate, Sheets, Shirts), but can be turned off before Starting .. or added to any cycle that doesn't include it by default....See MoreFisher & Paykel / Question about units purchased - Good Deal?
Comments (3)Nope. Both washer models are the top-of-line AquaSmart with LCD and capacitive-touch panel. F&P may issue a new model number when making only cosmetic changes, or engineering changes that don't much affect the machine's functioning. You got an excellent deal. The topload dryer is a wonderful machine. Make sure your exhaust ducting is clean and unobstructed and takes the shortest, straightest path possible, and you'll be surprised how fast it can get a load dry after spinning at the washer's 1000 RPM....See MoreFisher Paykel IWL16 Washer Mold/Water Problem
Comments (2)The mold/film/residue develops again two weeks after you disassemble and clean the machine? That's wayyyyy more cleaning than should be necessary. There's a contributing factor (or perhaps more than one) related to your environmental conditions and/or laundry habits. The trick is figuring out what is it. Being that the problem has steadily gotten worse even with your constant cleaning of the machine, perhaps your water conditions have changed, leading to a reaction with your choice of detergent/additives. The water remaining in the tub/pump sump area is normal. EVERY washer leaves some residual water in the tub/pump/drain hose. What detergents are used? Liquid or powder? What's the dosage for a typical load? Is softener used regularly? Other laundry aids such as chlorine bleach or oxybooster? Local water conditions? City services or private well? Mineral content/hardness? Mechanical softener?...See Moredadoes
