I guess I would start with the kichen being complete and that needs to done after the same flooring is installed everywhere I really am having some difficulty relating the pictures to the floor plan. In the pictures where is the mud room?

I know this post is over a year old... Wanted to compliment you on your choice of Table! I have a 48" Round Pedastal Table that has a huge leaf! I live in a small aprtment in the city and love the fact that my table is compact for everyday but can accomodate guests. I am on the hunt for an 8' ROUND rug fo rmy table and came across your post! GREAT CHOICE in RUG! You were asking for advice on any other improvements as well... I absolutley love that sideboard area...Was thinking instead of the cute ledges with pictures...I can't help but feel that corner is screaming for some reflection and light... How about a tall arched mirror..or even a rectangular window type mirror... (Link: Arched Mirror, Another Choice...)a little less wide than the buffet and tall in scale... and a cute accent/buffet lamp would be awesome! It could offer some beautiful reflection and some accent lighting... Just a thought. I have found some really cool mirrors at Hobby Lobby and Homegoods! What a beautiful space! I love the fireplace...I also love the clock over the fireplace... I'm a huge clock person...AND Its in a very practical place! @Vinnya DeLuca - the entry to the great room is through a 8-foot wide cased (actually, steel beam-framed) opening near the kitchen. There is a hallway parallel to the length to our guest room area, but wanted those to be private, so only one entry to the great room. The entry is across from the main entry to our house, through the foyer. And thanks. That mockup/render was an early attempt to see if I properly framed the view the way i wanted. We have enough framing up to know that I nailed it!

I think we need to see what the furniture is like in the sapces around this space. I have no issue with mixing to some extent but I need more context . You are building a modern home what was te reasoning behind that choice to begin with ?I would maybe keep the table and the sideboard but the cahirs not so much. I think we need to know a bit more about what you need in cahirs I do not like slip covers in contemporary spaces thay always look sloppy IMHO.. So I think wait until you are ready for the decor step then post pics .
