about to have cookout, thanks

A few weeks ago, I posted asking how to make potato salad because I was planning a cookout with the guy who lives right over me... we'd just met after being neighbors for over 2 years and are now in the process of developing a friendship. I had never made potato salad before and you all came through for me... I made a practice batch then and it was pretty good.

Well, today is the day. It thirty minutes we're going to start our cookout. I made the potato salad last night and it is even better than the first time. I sliced the potatoes smaller, didn't cook them as long, and made this one much more creamy.

I also made baked beans (opened a can of Bushes and added brown sugar and bacon), cream cheese cherry pie, and strawberry lemonade. I also did the ground beef patties because if he had is way we'd be using Bubba Burgers! I seasoned the ground beef with salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder, worcestershire sauce. I thought about adding bread crumbs, but decided not to at the last minute.

The lemonade is a fiasco. I used four lemons and a cup of sugar. Then I sliced some strawberries and some lemon rings and threw them in just for looks. Well, it didn't look yellow enough to be "classic lemonade" so I added yellow food coloring to make it look more "real". Well, it ended up looking like urine so I added some red thinking I could make pink lemonade instead. Well, several colors later, I ended up with something that isn't even on the color wheel, but tastes great. I added a little more sugar too, but didn't want it to be too sweet in case he doesn't like it where one sip will melt your teeth like I do.

And lastly, the cream cheese cherry pie

He is providing the brats, buns, and grill. And we WILL have ketchup! LOL Thanks again everyone for telling me how to make good ol' tater salad!

:o)
