New Cheer

Oh no! Here we go again,another detergent "?".

I'm sorry,but was wondering if any of you who have used the new Cheer had any fading with your dark clothes. The label doesn't list OBA's but I'd like to know before I'm committed to a whole bottle. Thanks.

When I called the company a couple of months ago, about the new packaging, they told me no. Remember,though, that the HE versions do contain OBA's, while the regular versions and the powders do not. HTH, Todd

My question is, is this new formula like the older ColorGuard formula (which I really liked), or is it different?

Does anyone know???

Until I find out for sure, I'll stick to buying Tide TotalCare HE for our nice office/church clothes and fine washables. It actually does a better job on such laundry than any other detergent I've used, even Woolite.

Pauline, you must be very blessed! I have always thought Vancouver Island must be the loveliest place to live, and, in my dreams, would have had a place like yours! I know you are enjoying it very much. I remember when you lost your good friend last year, and know that a loss like that makes you learn to realize how dear every day of life is. I emailed P&G about the new Cheer HE Powder to ask where it might be sold. Their answer was somewhat puzzling and just reminded me why I'm trying to stay away from as many P&G products as I can. Here's their reply: I'm sorry we can't answer your question via email. Most of the information we're able to share with consumers is either on our brand or corporate website (http://www.pg.com). If you've already searched those sites thoroughly and still can't find what you're looking for, please call us using the toll-free number on our product packages, and we'll do whatever we can to help. We're open Monday - Friday 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM EST. Thanks for writing, P&G Team Now maybe I'm missing the point here, but why can't they give me an answer via email as to which retailers should be selling their Cheer HE Powder detergent? No, I won't be calling them. I really dislike companies that make it difficult for their customers. :-( Janet

El...that's very very kind of you to do this for our wonderful and loving friend Bjorn. I am going to have to figure out shipping costs as I think it will be very expensive however I'm guessing at that, I really have no idea..if its not to expensive I can get package in mailer sooner than I'd hoped to..but it's going to be at least weeks before this happens. I was just thinking about how Bjorn is left out of all of this fun, do to him living so far away and with him not being well it can't be easy for him. And he had a heart of Gold. Apparently El, you also have a heart of Gold...which so many here do. No wonder this is such a wonderful place to spend time!!

I LOVE the scent of vintage Cheer and have found adding 1 tablespoon of Ariel W/Downy with 1/4 cap of Purex Plus Clorox 2 detergent in my front load washer gives me wonderfully clean fresh laundry that reminds me so much of Cheer from the 80's :)

I asked specifically about the powder. P&G CS told me that the formula is the same, packaging change only.

Does the new powdered Cheer come in an HE formula? I've only seen the HE formula in liquid.

Unfortunately, just the regular version. Though I have used it in my Bosch, which is notorious for oversudsing with a minimal amount of soap, with good results. Posters on this site have used it for years with good results.
