I'm not a coffee drinker, so I don't "tune in" to that fragrance (odor?) but I can successfully make my way to the Cinnabon's in any mall by smelling my way to them ... does that count?

and yes, I like to smell things too. I have a wonderful time in Bath & BodyWorks going through their new fragrances. Or Yankee Candle places. YUM!

But the thing *I* do that really drives hubby nuts, is touching.

I walk down an aisle and touch towels, shirts, jackets, whatever, just to feel it. I don't even slow down, just touch as I walk by. I can't explain it, but I'm drawn to touch certain things.

Main Man raves about the Mrs Baird's Bakery in Fort Worth. How he use to ride his bicycle by there just to smell the bread baking.

I use to love to drive through the "shanty" part of town when I was a teen just to smell the wood burning stoves.

I guess that is why I like my firepit so much. I love the smell.

you remind me of the time I spent in the miountains of New Mexico. In the Winter months many people burned wood. The most popular was cedar (juniper). It would hang in the air on a calm, crisp morning and the scent was heavenly.

i once had a eucalyptus swag over a doorway in my home. THAT THING SMELLED SO GOOD. I would wake up and smell it. I threw it out long ago because it was a terrible dust magnet and made me sneeze. Another "benefit" of a good nose.

Gayle - my DH use to work for the Mrs. Bairds in Dallas and he smelled NOTHING like the baked bread when he'd come in from work. My BIL is the head engineer at the Ft. Worth plant.

LOL My Mom always told me I had a too sensitive nose and could smell anything good or bad. I must have been a blood hound in a previous life. LOL

I love to sniff detergent and for years I used to go in the store and sniff the brand of shampoo that an old boyfriend used to use. I don't think they make it any more. I will have to check it out and see. :))

I love sniffing soaps, lotions, shampoos, but my all time favorite is Fabric Softeners. Often when a silly GF and I are out goofin, we head to the softener aisle, just for fun.

I do smell soaps and shampoos before I buy them and candles of course. I think I'm more of a feeler though like stoneybaloney.

No I don't like strong odors. The only time I smell things is to make sure they don't disgust me. I made the mistake of picking up a Yankee candle of some weird scent just the other night. When I got into my vehicle I could smell it on me so I had to go wash my hands to get free of the odor before it gave me a headache.

I buy mostly unscented products whenever I can. I have left stores without buying anything when they have too much scent around.

I do like the way my dogs smell. They each have their own individual scents. I had a Black Lab who had a "sweet spot" right on his forehead. It was a very distinctive sweet scent and no other part of him had it. I've never smelled it on my other pups.

well yes I do! I love to smell things and this makes me realize my good shopping buddies do to. I'd say thats something we consider fun, smelling the fragrances, candles, food and anything that smells along the way. I love the smell of coffee too but prefer not to drink much since it gives me the jitters.

to me nothing smells more heavenly then crawling into a bed where the covers and sheets have been line dryed...it's a smell that reminds me of growing up on the farm...Mom line dryed EVERYTHING...

I'm with Stoney, too. 'Cept I love coffee smells. I love to feel textures in the store as I'm walking by.

Wildchild reminded me that my dog smells like Fritos sometimes. I'm not saying I like the smell of Fritos...just that he has that smell. :-) I should have named him Frito Bandito.

I feel SO much better about myself now. LOL!

I don't know how many of you are familiar with Pioneer Woman and her blog, but she just got a new Bassett Hound puppy and said his paws smell like Fritos. I keep meaning to smell Missy's to see if it's a dog thing like puppy breath but I keep forgetting.

That is so funny! I love your story. I like to smell things, too, but every time I stick my nose to a scented candle I wonder how many other noses have been there. lol

I just thought that same thing tonight. I was smelling a candle at TJ Maxx and thought ..I wonder how many others have done this? And I'm a germ freak too..I have a very capable new dryer but hang my clothes on the line every time it's not raining. I just love the smell of sheets and towels with that line dried smell.

I love the way that my dachshund, Roxie, smells. Well, let me clarify that - not when she's REALLY dirty but just her usual doggy smell! LOL

I also love to smell of new crayons and old fashioned "paste". (Must be the school teacher in me! LOL)

I have a very poor sense of smell but I love to feel all the different textures.

I have been known to pick up my coffee cup to smell it after I've finished drinking my coffee. We buy our coffee beans from Maui Coffee Roasters and it smells sooooo good. Vanilla Macadamia Nut. Yum!

My sister (Martha II) ties flavored coffee beans into a net bag and keeps them in her car, replacing them occasionally. Her car always smells so pretty and fresh.
