I will be in FT. Myers the whole month of Feb. Have friends to visit in Naples. I would be interested.

I'm on the east coast year round! I have friends in Naples and Ft Myersthat I could stay with.

You'll have a great time. I'm planning on going to AZ for a couple weeks at that same time. The neighbor lady asked if I wanted to drive to AZ with her for a couple weeks. You bet. If things work out, I'll be there around the 9-20th.

I will be on Marco in Feb. I will watch for the plans. I would love to meet you GW folks. Love Naples, maybe that could be the central location. There are some very great spots on Marco if folks could get there. I could suggest places, but sounds like Naples would be a good spot.

I will only be there one weekend (9th and 10th) and my Dad's birthday is on the 9th so I can't do anything that day but the 10th would work for me. I won't have a car that I could leave Naples with so if we could meet someplace there it would be great.

I can ask my folks if they would mind if we visited at their house and then we could go eat someplace if everyone wanted to. There are lots of restaurants in Naples. I am sure my folks could suggest one.

Nita, since you mentioned you won't have a car to drive while in Naples, it sounds like you are flying to FL. Just wanted to chime in that if you DO happen to drive, you know you've got a room here. I hate to miss out on a famous Nita hug! :-)

I was just thinking that my Dad's wouldn't work for Gazania because there is a step to get in no matter which entrance is used.

Carol I hope that you will be able to come. If not I know my folks like to go to the casino in Ft. Meyers so maybe I could meet you someplace when they are playing the slots.

Hi Jen!! I had thought about driving but I couldn't pass up $288 round trip from Tucson. Besides my family seems to think that 7 or 8 weeks away from home would be a little much...lol You know me once I get away from here I don't want to return and I have so many people I would love to stop and visit on the way over and back. Don't worry though you will see me coming up your driveway hopefully someday soon.

Hellooo...Golly-after all of the trials & tribulations I had in '07 ..I am SO READY to head to Naples! Sounds like a great weekend away for me. I have 2 gal pals who live in Naples I'll visit on Sat., then look forward to the meet with all of us KT buds on Sunday Feb 10th.
I too, will be bringing my sweetie (I'm a little gun shy driving alone since my car accident Dec 1st) so it'll be nice to see another fella there.
Hey Joan...remember what a great time we shared at Captiva Island? It'll be great to see you and Kenny again! Nita...it's about time we hooked up! As for Tiger-I have not seen her nor heard from her since we met up with Flamey a couple years ago. She moved to a new home somewhere nearby, but no idea where.

nita, if it is just 1 step or even 2 steps, I would likely be able to manage with someone topside to pull, or bottom side to push. My dh will probably be with me, and he knows where to goose me to get results. It may take me a few tries, but ususlly I can figure a way if there is only 1 or 2 steps. I just wouldn't likely be able to do it repetedly over a short time. I get worn out pretty quick. Thanks for remembering.

Nita, we have the car here. It would cost a fortune to drive the motor home everywhere! Once we bought a place, the motor home winters in MN 9the poor thing!).

Naples is 300 miles from here, I might not make it.

I just got off the phone with my folks. They are all for our get together at their house. So the date is set for Feb. 10 in Naples. I was thinking about 11AM to start.

How about instead of going to a restaurant we get some food from Boston Market. My Dad said they just had a dinner to go for 4 with plenty of food for about $25 so the cost wouldn't be too bad when divided by how many of us are there. Or we could order some pizzas. Just want to keep it simple and no work for anyone. If this is alright with everyone I will get the paper plates and other things that we would need. I will also need to know what everyone likes to drink ahead of time so I can get that also.

Joan I asked my Dad about having someone stay in their motorhome in the driveway and he said they can't do that in Naples. He said there is a WalMart not far from his home where folks stay overnight. Hope that would work for you and Kenny if you can come.

Gazania, my Dad has Post Polio and understands about the steps. He said he could have a ramp made and was very concerned about your comfort.

I am sure everyone will love my folks. They are in their 80's and very outgoing people. You will also get to meet my son, Shannon, as he will be there for my Dad's 87's birthday.

Nita, bless your Dad's caring heart...so nice of him to offer. But really I am sure it isn't necessary to build a ramp. Sounds like there will be plenty of help to push, pull, goose or whatever it takes to get me where I need to be. Between me, my cane or walker or scooter and hubby I'm good to go most anywhere
As for food..what ever is sure to not be any work for anyone is the way it should be. We aren't picky at all and water is our drink of choice. Pizza would be really easy with not much need for anything but napkins and plates along with all the smiling faces and good conversation.

This should be a great time, hope we can get several KT'ers together for this.

I'm in Port Saint Lucie, which is on the SE Coast (but NE from Naples, lol). IIRC it's about a 3 hour drive, which though lengthy would certainly be worth it! I'd probably need to rent a car though, unless I can talk mom into going as well (she lurks here and will probably give me a lecture about how my car won't make the drive, lol, though I'm not sure she'd be all that jazzed about the drive herself).

I'll email you, at least to get your info, and if I can't make it at least maybe I can call in to say hi to ya'll while you're all partying :-)

Gee Aprilflowers that is only 22 miles from my aunt's house in Hobe Sound. My folks go over there a few times a year to visit her.

It would be wonderful if you and your mom could come but I understand with the distance and car problems that it might not be possible. Send me an email and I will give you the phone numbers so that you could call if you can't come. Will also send you the address and a map.

Sounds great but I just booked a Texas trip for March so my budget died..
