um... Did you actually try contacting brian thru email? ive never had much trouble any of his plants, some are magnificent, but ive heard his customer service is great... It seems borderline inappropriate to dig up an old thread and slam a reputable seller, and head it like a letter directed to brians mail. I doubt seriously he will read your remark, but certainly his customers or potential costumers will, whats your objective? ive also got to say hes been really nice to me personally, breeds great plants, that i love and so few people work with or release new varieties. in regards to an expensive mistake...without even asking what you bought i can garantee brians price was better than 90% of his competition. Competition that are selling his ppaf plants... Shipping is awful but not his fualt, he combines and packs well. Im lucky hes in my backyard! Im planning a trip as soon as I can manage it! no S/H :D Ill leave with more than I plan to buy and need to come back and get more... seriously kathryn this is gardenweb not brians site, instead of slandering him here (at the briansbotanicals fan club lol) have courtesy to let the seller make things right in private, it seems likely the problem may not have been the plants...

I want to add one additional comment. When you ask Larry if you can keep Buffy, let him know Buffy can visit anytime he wants to see her. It's hard to say how Larry feels about the dog without knowing him. He may be very attached but not have the time or money. My guess is though, based on the matted hair, that he is not a very responsible owner. If that is the case he will be more than willing to give up the dog. If he does give you the dog I would write up adoption papers and have him sign them. Just something that says he is relinqueshing his ownership to you. You can make something up to Larry about needing proof of ownership for pet insurance. Good luck and keep us informed. Donna P.S. Okay, I have to admit, I'm confused by what you got for your migraine. Why didn't he treat it there, and why didn't he give you an abortive med (immitrix, relpax, etc). And oh so much more. Now I'm not saying the fiorinol/fioricet won't help DD uses that when she gets a bad one, but it's not her "first line of defense". So, I will tell you something my doctor didn't, but Sandy-IA did, and she was so right. When you take this, and it may well work right away, DO NOT take it for more than 3 days. Migraines are funny, they like pain meds, and will sometimes "beg for more", and rebound so you will take more. Not always, but sometimes. I had a neurologist tell me to take 2 fiorinal everynight for mine that would last a while. When I was finally able to see a migraine specialist, he said that the first doctor didn't know a thing about migraines! At this point I don't think you need to take a daily preventative (I know you've had one for a LONG time, but it's only ONE), but you should talk to your regular doctor about an abortative if you get them again. Although I have to admit, your description of this headache didn't sound like a migraine to me. Not one sided, lots of other things. BUT, migraines are so different for different people that it oculd be, and "I'm not a doctor, I just suffer from migraines" Vickey-MN

Glad you got it out! You did the right thing by going to Urgent Care. Many years ago when we lived in LA, I had a wonderful small room off the landing. It had multiple storage closets and a built in counter. It was a perfect sewing room! I used my husband's rug from bachelor days - a Marimekko shag rug in various greens and blues. I told my husband and my children to NOT come in that room barefoot as it was a SEWING ROOM and there is no way on earth to not drop the occasional pin on the floor. With this shag rug, it was difficult to see any that were dropped. Well, of course my husband paid no attention and came in there to ask me something and stepped on a pin. He sat down and pulled it out and that was it...or so he thought. Over the next few days, his foot got more and more sore. He soaked it in hot water and epsom salts. No better. It was now hurting a LOT. So, a week or so later, he finally went to our orthopedist as he was sure he had broken something in his foot. The doctor x-rayed the foot, came back in, numbed the area, and proceeded to remove PART of the pin DH had stepped on. The doctor then said it was obvious that my husband was a math teacher and not a physics teacher, or he would have looked at what he pulled out and realized that the pin had broken and part of it was still in his foot! No, he still went barefoot even where I sewed...
