Wig, I am guessing my tree is around fourteen or fifteen ft high....and I have had it planted for around ten or 11 years. It was a good size tree when we bought it tho. Mine blooms beautiful pink in the spring..loads of it...or at least loads of it if the frost doesn't get it. I have my goldfish pond at its base. It too began as the base for a new bed. We bought it, planted it..then decided a year later to enhance and add to it. In its early years (Before we had internet) I was not agrressive enough with its pruning. I pruned from the bottom branches but did nothing much to the top. It began to look much like a 13 year old with long arms and legs..a bit gangly....after doing some net research, we discovered we should of always been "topping" anything out the top that was not a strong weeper...anything upright BEFORE weeping...it is my understanding you can "lose" the form of the tree if you do not watch that it its early years. So watch for that and do some research on it. Lucky for us, it was not to late to reshape our tree with some artful pruning. I think there is a bit of debate over dwarf or not. It is my understanding that these trees are almost never true dwarfs...but rather semi dwarfs,(tho there is a dward white bloomer) tho some call them dwarfs, they really are a semi dwarf..growing fifteen to eighteen feet high..so don't count on the tree staying too small...while they dont get massive I believe..they are also not dwarf :). I too was told my was dwarf..by a reputable nursery. I LOVE my weeper, I would be sad if I ever lost it..its beauty in the spring just cant be beat..and it blooms at the same time as my lilacs and between the lilacs and the cherry, the air is the most wonderful mix of smells ever. Mine was a mothers day present from my hubby and kids and it was the best mothers day present ever as it gives and gives each and every year. It was money well spent...I bet you will love yours too. I will try to post a pic of it this weekend. It is not blooming now ofcourse..but still my fav tree in the yard. It is also my understanding that if you have a dwarf white cherry variety that it has a bit of a diff form than the semi dward pinks. They are usually more straight sticks that weep rather than full rounded weepers...again, this is just information that was shared to me..not sure exactly how true it is..but it fits my tree at least...and if it is true, yours is a rounder version also. How long have you had the tree?

Hi Lulie, I think you saw at the KT where I lost my DMom in Feb. and then just recently lost Glen in May. I am doing o.k., I guess. Ninapearl took the words right out of my head. I loved Glen so much and miss him daily. Today, for some reason has really been rough. Well, one reason is I went to the cemetery and the flowers I had left weren't there and I wonder why... I try to tell myself on the really bad days that this is not how my loved ones nor God would want me to be. I know in my heart that they Are in a better place and no longer suffering. Two major losses like that within less than 3 months is hard. We didn't have any kids together just the animals and they are what keep me going. I can tell they are getting a little better but they do have some separation anxiety it seems when I leave them. No nothing is the same and if someone hasn't been through this they really don't have any idea what it's like. One day they are here with us and then the next they are not. If one more person tells me "you're still young, you'll find someone" I think I just may go postal. It doesn't matter how old you are or they were, when you lose the love of your life that is the last thing on your mind-finding someone to replace them.(which I will never be able to do)we were two halves that made each other whole. One game DD liked was to divide the group into teams of about 5 per team. They all stand in a line, with the lead team member facing a finish line an arbitrary distance away and all the other team members standing one behind the other (but not too close). The lead person of each team has a roll of TP. At "Go!" the lead person holds the end of the TP but passes the roll back over his/her shoulder to the person behind, who passes it over his/her shoulder, etc, unrolling the TP as it goes. The back person on the team passes the TP between his/her legs to the person in front, who passes it through his/her legs to the next person, still unrolling the TP. When it gets back to the front it goes back over the shoulders and comes up between the legs, effectively joining the team together in one giant loop of TP. Keep passing the TP until it runs out. As soon as it does run out, the team has to run together over the finish line without breaking the TP. Lots of laughs here :-)

sah I turned on my 2 yr old dishwasher just before I went out, leaving my babysitter with my children. I was only gone about 3 hrs and my sitter had the children outside in the yard playing. I walked into the house and was surprised by the acrid smell in the kitchen. Not knowing where it was coming from I leaned on the sink to open the window and almost burned my hands. It was stainless & hot from the dishwasher that was in CONTINUOUS DRY and the whole push button console was melted and warped. The amazing thing I noticed was the heat dry button was in the NO position as usual. I always opened the dishes to air dry. It was very silly of me to open the door but I did it without thinking. I inhaled a whopping amount of toxic fumes, I'm sure. What I saw astounded me. All the plastic cups & plates were melted & dripping as was the plastic coating on the dishwasher racks! I called the manufacturer & sent pictures and they replaced the dishwasher with the same model calling it a fluke. Almost 18 months later the same thing happened. This time I refused any of the company's replacement offers and bought another brand because I was selling the house and couldn't live with myself if I left a dangerous appliance in the house. Since the first experience with a defective dishwasher I never run it if I gout or to bed. I'm sure my experience was a rare event but it happened twice in 2 yrs. I'm not taking any chances.
