Where do you put a hot lid while you cook?
Comments (26)I have granite on my outer counters, and I am in the process of getting marble for my island...I had my fabricator make two nice big extra pieces of my slab, and created 2 chopping boards. I put my utensils, seasonings/oils, and hot drippy lids on it! I sometimes will throw a paper towel on it if its tomato based. I would never put a drippy lid on my marble!!! Maybe see if your fabricator has a good granite or soap stone remainder that they can create a co-ordinating board for you?...See MoreWhat do you listen to when you sleep?
Comments (59)LOL. My first reaction was just like Joyful's! Nothing, I'm sleeping! I'm like a couple of others here, the noise in my ears is plenty. But my noise is mostly like the Cicadas sound in the summer. But it doesn't keep me awake. I prefer quiet to sleep, no TV or radio, that would bother me more than the Tinnitus does. There is very little outside noise in this neighborhood to bother anyone. Very few cars passing. The Tinnitus doesn't usually bother me much. I guess I've gotten used to it over the years, my very own 'built in' white noise. Occasionally it will be loud enough, or annoying enough, to give me a headache, and even more occasionally, it will go away, or be so low it is almost unnoticeable. Rusty...See MoreWhat Stays Running In Sleep Mode?
Comments (6)"Shorten your time in power configurations for hibernate to happen if worried about mother board components powered on during sleep." I don't understand that sentence? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hibernate saves everything open to a file on the hard drive and turns off the computer & restarts exactly like it was, before turning off the power. Sleep does the same except things are saved in RAM rather than the hard drive, and some motherboard components are still powered on. If that makes any sense....See MoreChased by a dog while running
Comments (63)Thank you everyone. Doing much better today. Still hurts when touched or when taking any steps up/down or first getting up from laying/sitting to move, and can't sleep on that side, but at least I finally got some sleep last night sleeping on my other side (not the preferred one). I went to the doctor within a few hours of it happening and got a Tetanus, antibiotics, and a cleaning of the wound. I also reported it to the Sheriff's office which told me a puncture bite should always be reported and the dog was picked up by a deputy and put into quarantine at a local vet for 10 days (paid for by the owner) and his shot records were verified so at least I don't have to worry about rabies. I do want to get some pepper spray that would be effective on humans as well since you never know there either, but don't want it to kill a dog either. Usually I only encounter deer, bunnies, and sometimes the school bus and a home health aide, so haven't had a reason to worry before, but now I'm in full protect mode. If I have to carry something I need it to be effective for all threats....See MoreElmer J Fudd
