This is Little_Wren responding to Beachseeker and others. I do not really have resolution. As I mentioned I used the low water test with the "normal" cycle from the Whirlpool website on a washer in the Maytag store and about 1 ¾ inches of the baffle was above water. I also tried it at another Maytag store and the results were the same. When a new Maytag store opened in April, I tested their 9600 which was most likely manufactured later than the floor model machines in the older Maytag stores. This newer machine had 2 inches of the baffle above the water level. Ours at home is 2 ¼ inches. None of these meet the test given on the Whirlpool website. I also ran the other cycles and compared our machine at home to the floor models  some water levels were the same and some were different. The 9500, which is new to our area and a "lower" model, tested at ¾ inch of the baffle above the water. The Whirlpool engineer was suppose to phone the A&E repair person after the Whirlpool engineer got back from vacation. Then the A&E person was going to phone us. We have not heard back and it was been months. I find that unprofessional. The A&E person said that the manufacturers made changes and keep the same model numbers and do not inform repair people of changes. However, the clothes seem to get clean. I have observed that some of the cycles have more water, so I use those cycles. I do like to see at least some water in the wash and in the rinse. What have others found? Thanks, Little_Wren

@maxima9 It is most likely an air pressure switch. That is what the clear tube going into the back of the control panel senses. As the water in the drum fills it creates air pressure in the tube. The other end of the tube goes into the drum and is usually connected to the center agitator which has holes in it. As the water fills the drum the water will fill the clear tube and increase the air pressure. This pressure change is then read by the computer in the control panel. Once the correct pressure is reached for a small, medium or large load then water inlet valve is turned off. It is most likely all computer controlled and not defeatable. I suppose you could cut the tube and insert an tee. Then attach a tube to the bottom of the tee and route it outside your washer somewhere convenient. Then put a gas tight valve on the end of the tube. When you want more water in the drum open the valve to allow air to enter the clear tube and keep the pressure inside the tube low. Once the water level is close to your liking, close the valve and the pressure will then build inside the tube and eventually reach the proper pressure to turn off the water. That procedure above would all be premised on their being no timer on the water fill valve. Many computer controlled valves don't rely JUST on the pressure switch, but rather amount of time the valve has been open as well. This is to prevent a flood. The fill valve has a max GPM rating that can't really be exceeded by increasing pressure. The manufacturer knows what this rating is and programs the computer to close the fill valve before the tub would theoretically overflow. This is usually a safety in case the pressure switch fails. Even if you COULD increase the water level there is no guarantee that the motor is strong enough to properly agitate. If they designed it for 6-10 gallons of water and you can fit 25-30 in it that would mean the motor has to work with 240 instead of around 80lbs, plus the weight of the clothes. You see to be an eco washer also means they can cheap out on parts as well. Smaller motor, less cost, etc. I would not "trash" the washer. Just sell it used on any of the normal online places. Someone will take it. Then don't make the same mistake again.

If you can find the right size screw clamp (like the one you have shown in your pictures), that should be more secure than the spring clamp. Tighten it as tight as you can without cracking/breaking the plastic the hose is connecting to. I wouldn't use any adhesive as it would make it difficult to remove if you need to replace the hose if it forms a leak. Make sure the plastic and the hose are clean and dry. You may want to use a fine grit sand paper to scuff the plastic and inside the hose to make them less smooth.

eponymouse I live in Sweden and we already have the new line of Asko washers you are talking about. What I have seen in test of earlyer machines fron asko are that they are about midrange in cleaning and rather low at rinsing how that will be in the new models time will tell..... Have read the top of the line manual and there are stuff you can program. There are a more water option, do not know if it ads even to wash or just rinse. You can ad 2 more rinses. Both these are not awailable in all programs. What is it you want to know specificly, but we have to remember that it can vary from Eu to Us, I will gladly read more of the manual if you want me to.
