Bosch Nexxt 700 : Attn: Bosch_Chris

Chris, I am new to the forum, but have used it for research over the past six months. I have ordered (special order) in the past month, two 700 series washers through Lowes. Both have been unpacked by Lowes and were banged up with dents and scratches. What is going on at the factory to let two of these leave in this condition? I am wondering if it is worth it to order a third. Please advise. My wife does like the 700 gas dryer though.

I was wondering that same question a few months ago myself. Makes you wonder what type of quality control there is. The second 500 series that I ordered had a huge dent in the front with a couple scratches. The Lowes delivery guys & I noticed it after we took the packaging off out in my driveway. I didn't accept delivery on it. The first one the strut broke within 5 weeks, the third one had a discoloration on the round disc that covers the coin trap. I did accept that one, but ended up returning it after a couple months for the whirpool duet sport HT.

Is it a problem with Lowe's at all? I had to return 2 AEG dryers in a fortnight as they had both been delivered with dents, the 3rd dryer came with a slight dent and I didn't bother returning it and just kept it as the dent was just small and on the side, plus I got it for a good price. I've also heard similar stories from peopleof even Miele's being damaged from the same retailer and turning up dented/damaged in some way... so could this possibly be a problem further down the line and with the retailer more than the Bosch factory?

Wow... I guess the people from Bosch must closely monitor this site!! Not long after I mention new products on their website, (dryers), they went ahead and change them back. I also mentioned on a deferent thread about a second website that showed all the new products and they locked that site from the public, you now need a username... But looser I agree it's ok to buy something that will be discontinued but then you would be better off to wait because: #1, they will probably have a LARGE price break and #2, parts may be available, but down the road it will always be harder to get parts for a discontinued product vs. a current product. I work for a color printer company and when a product becomes discontinued it becomes a fire sale with all the dealers. Support also becomes more difficult. And forget about getting any updates or improved parts, the new focus will be on the current and next model. The 700 series would concern me the most since itÂs only been out for about a year or so. It doesn't make sense to discontinue such a new model. About the water usage, I saw a difference but I thought it was minimal. I am unable to look at more data since they pulled them from the two websites. Looser, Did you know where you can still get more info on them? I decided against the 800 series due to it being "white and silver" that just doesn't sound right. So the 500 plus will be the one for me and I plan on getting pedestals even though there are a lot of threads saying they cause vibrations. I'm sure a place like Loews or Pacific Sales will return them if that is the case. Pacific Sales is returning an oven that ended up being too big for me with a full refund. Even with an open box and not to mention it's been it my garage for a year waiting for the kitchen to be done. I was pleasantly shocked when they told me that they will return it.

I wouldn't advise putting anything heavy like sand in the Bosch pedestal drawers. They're kind of flismy. We have the pedestals and I'm not sorry we bought them. Although I can't say I would advise anyone else to get them. It does help a lot with the bending over thing and that's good. We have switched to smaller containers of concentrated detergent, like Wisk and Method. Those bottles fit in the drawers very easily. Also garage towels and other small stuff goes in there so it's not a total waste. Still a great laundry set. 6 months later and I still help with the laundry. I wonder how much longer that will last ;)

Well, I finally took the plunge and bought a Bosch 500 Plus Washer/Dryer today!!!!! I think I got a great!! I first want to let people know that now through the end of the year there are up to $125 rebate on all Bosch Washers. Mine has a $100 rebate. The 800 series has the $125 rebate. I bought them at Pacific Sales and I almost think the sales person might have made a mistake because out the door I paid under $2300 (including tax and free delivery, $2200 if you count the rebate. And that was for the ones in silver, it included the pedestals and the extended service plan (for four more years at $64 each). I verified the model numbers so she did order the right ones. I was going to wait to see them but once she told me the price I didnt hesitate. Ive done a lot of research, and it seems that there are no perfect brands anymore. I just hope I fall in the majority of Bosch owners and become very satisfied with my purchase decision. (At least I wont feel that they were over priced.)

My Nexxt 700 will not drain, I had a repairman out worked for about two loads. Then followed gassere's excellent instructions from this thread. I can get the machine to work OK for a load or two, then will not drain again. There are no objects that I can find. The machine hums, and sometimes will start draining if I cycle the control a few times, almost as if the pump is a bit stuck. Is there a way to disassemble further without factory expert knowledge? I bought our set of 700's directly from Bosch (my husband works for a wholesaler that carries Bosch and I bought them directly from the local rep through a personal-use program). My set was delivered to the local warehouse of my husband's company by Bosch and when we unpacked them after bring them home, they were in perfect shape. At least with my limited experience, they came from the factory in great shape and I haven't had one issue in the 3 months since they've been installed.

BTW, just to clarify, I wasn't referring to Lowe's at all (they don't even have stores here), but to a retailer here in the UK.

I just got my Bosch Nexxt 700 today. I had it delivered by Lowes, I was surprised when they showed up in a U-Haul rental truck. I guess the truck could have broke down. The washer was fine, no damage. They did not really know how to install it though.

I am sure it is the shipping carrier. Lowes says they will request the next one on a pallet. I suggest that they should wrap in protective styrofoam if their shipping agent is that bad in protecting merchandise.

I would say that there is nearly no way machines with this type of damage lef the factory in New Bern, NC this way. We are always trying to improve packaging, but even the best packaging is not 100% against improper handling of the machines.
