Thank you for posting your opinion on the new Miele Care Collection detergents and fabric softener. I have a Miele washer W1215 and dryer T1415 that perform better than any of my previous high end washer and dryers. I really like the Persil Color Gel, Persil Universal Gel, and the Megaperls for colors and whites. I prefer using the Gels over the Megaperls, because I think it's easier to spot treat stains. All the Persil detergents, liquid or powder clean all household laundry extremely well, but my observation is the scent of the Gels last longer than the Megaperls. I also like the Perwoll Black and Perwoll Balsam Magic, alot. I like the Vernel Liquid Fabric Softener, but I DO NOT like the Day at the Sea scent at all. I wish Henkel would make a liquid fabric softener with the Persil scent, just like Procter Gamble does with Gain Original scent detergent and fabric softener. I realize there are alot of consumers, and posters on this forum, that find the scent of Persil too strong, however I LOVE the scent. Too many times to count, people who don't even know me, have told me they like the way my clothes look and smell. I will keep using the Persil detergents as long as Henkel doesn't change the scent or formulas.

I did want to say that the Miele Care Collection "for delicates" liquid detergent is AMAZING for sheets. It is not strong enough to clean daily clothes and soiled items, but it is great for sheets.

When I wash and dry my 100% cotton sheets with either Persil Color Gel, Persil Universal Gel or Tide he & a little liquid softener (almost always Downy April Fresh Original), they are not wrinkled...but for sure have some creases and light wrinkles (especially on the pillow cases).

When I wash my sheets with The "for Delicates" Miele Care Collection...they are amazingly soft, silkly smooth and not a wrinkle or crease anywhere. They actually look almost steam ironed! I've tried this now about 3-4 times, and when I go back to my regular Persil or Tide I can see a HUGE difference. Try the Miele for Delicates on sheets...I am totally amazed how silk like and wrinkle free my sheets are. It's brilliant!

I am happy with all the products. The "For Delicates" is outstanding, as is the fabric softener. I was told, by our Miele tech, to use no more than two tablespoons of the UltraColor and UltraWhite, and have been very happy with both's performance doing so. The "For Delicates" is outlandishly expensive.

I've try few Miele Care collection detergents over the past year...

"For Delicates" is better than already excellent Perwool Powder... anyone here tried pink bottle Perwool liquid?

"Sensitive Powder" clean stains better than Persil Sensitive Megaperls but not as white.... mmmm may try to mix them to get the best of both world? ;)

"UltraColor liquid" create a-lot-of subs with our super soft water, but clean very well. I still prefer Persil Color Megaperls because its rinse way better...

also Miele's "Down" and "outerwear" detergents are doing very well with our water.... they just make jackets look new again!!

also FYI:

Miele's detergents is *much* cheaper here in Canada than the State....

even those Persils are cheaper here! :p

Has anyone already used the Miele/Kreussler waterproofing liquid for ski wear and raincoats ? I use those ones available in sport gear big box stores. Kreussler is also the Miele supplier of sours/detergents for wetcleaning systems, so i guess their proofer is better

Larsi, that's true about sheets. Liquids for delicates are a bit on the sudsy side on normal cycles with plenty of tumbling action. That foam has a cushioning effect and reduces creases.

Somonica, Perwoll *liquid* classic for wool (pink) is even safe on dry clean only woolens. Go figure since we have the novotronic with that nice wool/handwash cycle, we rarely go to the dry cleaner.

Stay away from powders when washing pure wool. The handwash cycle has very litte movement, not enough to dissolve them.

I agree with Linda above.... the Persil detergent smell is GREAT. Wish that they made a fabric softener with the same Persil smell. I, too, don't like Day at the Beach (Blue) fabric softener... too perfumey.

I like the Miele detergent line as well. No big preference over Persil, and I like being able to switch between the two.

Fahrenheit, does the Miele Care fabric softener smelled like Persil detergent?

Cyberspacer, I haven't tried Day At The Beach. Is it similar, or the same as Day At The Sea?

@linda2007, larsi can better answer your question as I have not used Persil (yes, I know, I should be ashame). I had my wife smell the Miele softener and we both say it is a lightly scented floral smell from the undiluted bottle. The results of using it are noticeable, and pleasant regarding softness/smell. I typically do not like fabric softeners, but I am fine with Miele's; we will be buying it again.

Linda2007...The Miele Care Collection Fabric Softener does not really smell like Persil Detergent. With that being said, it does not smell like traditional American Softener. It is light, clean and a little soapy smelling. Miele Fabric Softener is a good match, scent wise, with Persil.

Last night I finally dumped (felt terribly wasteful:( both boxes of Miele Ultra White and Ultra Color detergent in the trash...I recycled the cardboard boxes!). Trying it 4x to give it a fair chance...and I hate it (almost as much as Charlie's)! It left stains on clothes, did not smell that fresh, the clothes were not soft and they honestly looked dry, faded and worn!

I'll stick with Persil Liquid for colors and whites (although I do maybe one white load every month of so...I live in black and navy & dark brown clothes, socks, undies, sheets, towels, etc..

For a Softener, my favourite is still Downy April Fresh. It actually pairs so well with Persil. I do water it down a bit, as it is a little thick, or when I find it, I buy the non-concentrated formula (they still make it).

Oh yeah, Vernel day at the beach, or sea is for me...WAY too strong. As is their peach blosson and rose. Honestly, I do not like Vernel softener at all. I do not think it softens that great. It is like cheap perfume for clothes. While I like scent in all my clothing and sheets...I use softener to soften. A light scent is a side benefit. Vernel is not for me!

All German Powder detergents work well with our water...

powders can work on "delicate" that has more motion.

Handwash/woolens/silks cycles just make a sudden 4 sec *roll* every minute. That is not enough to dissolve any powder. check the wash drain water ....
Perwoll pink 4 wool liquid (and other wool liquids) contain some sours and softeners that powders haven't. This stuff prevents wool shrinkage
Not a case Miele recommends liquids in these cycles. Check this manual (page 35).
Wetcleaning cycles in pro models also use liquids only

I use Day at the Sea and really like it :) It's funny how our schnozes and taste buds are all so different! I only use a little though and mix it with water. (less than a tablespoon)
I don't find it too strong at all, and it softens the clothes just fine for me.

Actually our Miele Tech, said that if one does not use Persil or Miele Care Collection, the Machines have been tested to work fine with Tide he powder or liquid.

Since Tide Total Care HE leaves my delicates very clean, amazingly soft, silky smooth with not a wrinkle or crease anywhere, and since it is not outlandishly expensive at all, I will continue to use it.

I did not find any undissolved Perwoll powder after my woolen/hand wash/silk programme on my drain water either...

German Powders with our soft water always seen to be dissolved unlike Tide or other American powders...

Be aware that the recommended dosage refers to a "old style" wool cycle with a very high level (same level used on "delicates", 1/3 glass). As I guess your machine has a very low water, "wetclean-like" wool cycle the actual dosage would be just one third in this programme. As a clue my newer machine on "wool" uses 1 1/2 gallon per fill vs the 7 maybe 8 gallon per fill of the older one

Guess they don't display perwoll powder dosages cause 90% of people use liquids for delicates ( I assume this from what i see on detergent aisles here)

yes, Miele wool cycle is indeed the " wet clean " style and I use about 35g of perwoll powder or half the cap of Miele "For Delicates"...

detergent with kanji is the Japanese Lion Brand which I brought in a local Asian supermarket for $7 per 1.1kg box...

Lion along with Kao, are the biggest Brands of cleaning products in Japan and much of east Asia...

Also I just brought a bottle of Korean made wool liquid detergent for only $4 per 1L.... let see how its goes... ;)
