GREAT Fabric Softener for Sensitive skin and noses
Comments (8)Hi Larsi! Actually its called Peach and Lemon Blossom. I have seen it on Miele retailer websites. I believe I got mine from the Persil detergent vendor: Better Products On-Line. @Livebetter: I, like you, am always tempted by differing laundry products. Rock Solid, I love Persil Megapearls. I was not overwhelmed by the smell and no adverse skin reactions. I have not tried the liquid or other powders. I was very pleased with the cleaning results. Price is the only issue for me. Wish I could find something cheaper that worked as well, but I haven't. Miele detergent products are almost identical in price to Persil, just easier to get (for me). Kinda like the folks on the kitchen forum who are obsessed with OTK (One True Kitchen), we are the OTD (One True Detergent), LOL!...See MoreMiele W4840 - Fabric Softener Dispensing
Comments (22)fahrenheit - Honestly, I don't think I've happened on any error here at all. After another test, maybe something could be said, but at this point it appears to be a mistake. For the most part all of the cycles are independent of each other. Just because "drain/spin" is a certain length doesn't mean that portion of "exta white" follows the same timing and exact pattern. A good example of this can be seen by looking at the "custom" cycle. crooks101 already noticed that "custom" doesn't use more water if the additional water function is choosen in the firmware (haven't played with the firmware myself, but crooks101 seemed absolutely certain of this). There is one other difference with "custom". It seems like the 1st and 2nd rinse spins (assuming you've choosen a 3rd rinse via "sensitive") are very-very slow spinning, short, low extraction spins even if you choose "max spin" as your spin option. At first I thought I was just seeing the W4840 trying a failed faster spin attempt and then punting by doing a slower spin. The W4840 seems to have an extremely good ability to get a load spinning even if it's somewhat out of balance so this behavior puzzled me. I've done 4 or 5 "custom" loads now and it always acts in this way with the lethargic intermediate spins. Other cycles like "normal" or "extra white" give the clothing a very good spin-out during these spins. I'm feeling some of crooks101 frustration in wondering why Miele programmed it like this. The machine has plenty of delicate options that seem well designed, so it's difficult to understand why "custom" acts like this....See MoreDetergents, additives, and fabric softener brands: 2013 Update
Comments (38)A Chinese business listing on a Bangladeshi online industrial directory included the following TAED product description: "Hongye Chemical Co., Ltd. can supply good quality TAED (tetra acetyl ethylene diamine) low-temperature bleaching activator for sodium perborate. Sodium perborate/TAED oxygen bleach formulation is widely used in laundry detergent, all-fabric bleach, automatic dishwashing and stain removal/cleaning products. The most commercialized low-temperature bleaching activator, TAED is typically applied in domestic laundry detergents, automatic dish-washing, bleach boosters, [and] laundry soak treatments, to improve the washing performance. TAED could be applied in textile bleaching to react with hydrogen peroxide in the bleach bath to produce a stronger oxidant. The use of TAED as a bleach activator enables bleaching at lower process temperatures, and under milder ph conditions. In [the] pulp and paper industry, TAED is suggested to react with hydrogen peroxide to form a pulp bleaching solution. The addition of TAED into pulp bleaching solutions results in a satisfactory bleaching effect. TAED used for [the] detergent industry is in granular form, free-flowing, and has several colors (mainly white, green, blue) to choose depending on users' choice." Comments (20)Yeah, it was me. Our Miele Senior Tech, said that they see the most problems with people who use "green", plant based soaps and softeners. He said they gum up much easier, and are actually harder to rinse! He said of course Persil and Miele Care Collection have been tested the most in Miele machines, but most he detergents are fine. Actually, up until somewhat recently, Miele was listed on the back of Tide he, as a recommended and tested product! I use Persil Colour Gel and Ariel Gel mit ActiLift about 90% of the time. I recently picked up a HUGE bottle of Tide he liquid with a touch of Downy with ActiLift (it was on sale for $9.99...and is HUGE). I've done 3 loads with this he Tide liquid with Downy...and I am actually shocked how clean my clothes are. Smells great too. A soft version of Downy. I still use a little liquid Downy FS in the dispenser, but not too much since this detergent has Downy in it. Stains are gone, odors removed, soft clothes and smells really clean and soft!!...See Morerecordaras
