Maytag Bravos TL HE washer Clean cycle
Comments (12)Thanks. Dianne47, that is exactly what happens if I turn it off...the water drains away. It will only allow about 5 min from pause to cut off if you don't start it back up. So much for a soak. whirlpool, there is a light that comes on the control panel that indicates a cleaning is due. It can be reset by pressing cancel. The manual says if you cancel the cleaning cycle, you need to rinse out the detergent and softener dispensers by running a rinse and spin cycle with an empty machine. I am not sure what would happen if I ignore the clean warning too long. Probably smells would develop over time, so I just wonder if anyone has used only bleach as a cleaning agent in this cycle. Thank you so much for your response. Murphy...See MoreWhirlpool Cabrio (with agitator) vs. Maytag Bravos (HE)
Comments (9)Thanks for the info dadoes! Well, at least the particlar Bosch HE front loader I have won't properly wash my queen quilt or the cotton/polyester mattress pad I have. The issue is that neither gets completely wet on the inside- when I've taken out both, there are areas that are wet, others that are bone dry (the machine spins at 1,200 and gets clothing almost dry, but in this case, when I mean bone dry, there is no hint of wetness). I've tried a couple of times with both items, but have given up and now go to the laundry mat. In neither case is the drum completely full, loosely packed there is still space a the top of the drum. It also won't completely wash the pillows I've tried. that is a tricky one because when trying to wash one pillow, the machine does not spin all the water out properly because it isn't balanced, although the pillow does get wet, two pillows do not get thouroughly wet, but do spin okay. I should mention that the Bosch manual on this model is a joke and has virtually no information about properly loading the clothing, detergent levels, etc. I err on the side of caution and lightly layer in the clothing and leave space at the top of the drum. There are other reasons I don't like the machine- I find it particularly hard on my clothing- for example, several times after I've washed a brand new dark cotton shirt, the shirt comes out looking faded and worn around the collar and lower hem, something I would see in my old top loader only after several, several washes. I use Tide which does not contain an optical brightener and turn my clothing inside out. My husband's dress shirts only last about a year now, the collar takes a beating and the fabric pills. Stains are hard to remove. The top hem of my sheets have permanent creases which won't iron out- I had a sheet that was 12 years old that had this happen to it and I'm upset about that one because I rarely find sheets of that quality anymore. I won't go on, but I do want a new washer. Right now I'm leaning towards the Cabrio, especially if the mechanics are virtuatlly the same in both the Whirlpool and Maytag. Thanks! Comments (2)Yes that is a common thing in the dispensers, whether it be a top loader or front loading washer, no worries for you...See MoreMaytag Bravos 'LF' Error Code Solved
Comments (23)Unfortunately we purchased this piece of junk, the Bravos XL to the tune of nearly a thousand dollars, thinking "heavy duty commercial" would bring a decent machine to last mare than a year or so. Should I suppose have gone with a Samsung. within a year or so we got the dreaded "LF". It happens at least once during a minimum of half the washes we do, on all settings....hot cold, "power wash", delicate, bedding, etc. etc. Beside the fact that every was seems to take a half day to finish, and the "LF" error, its been a wonderful experience. After about a year and a half of reshifting loads, trying to put the heavy at the top, then the bottom, without success, I just resigned myself to the fact the machine is and always will be a piece of crap; One day, when I was in the appliance dept at Home Depot, where I purchased it with a ten year extended "warranty", fresh from a bout of fighting the machine, I walked into the appliance department where we purchased it. What followed was what can only be described as a comedy of errors. First of all the saleswoman interrogated me as to why I had waited so long (apparently she has no concept of "we actually have a life outside of the laundry room"), she reluctantly looked up our transaction only to tell us she could find no record of our purchase, of the machine or the supposed "warranty". After informing me that a customer had just been in and told her that this was the best machine he'd ever had, I became adamant that I wanted SOME kind of answer. She didn't understand why it would upset me to find that home depot, which has a computer system to rival the pentagon, would have no record of my purchases less than two years prior. She proceeded to call HD "service", where she got busy signal after busy signal. Until reading the prior discussion, I had been seriously considering going back to HD and buying the biggest sledge hammer they sell and beating this pile of sheet metal into nothingness.... but now that I realize someone has the answer I'll contact HD and exercise my non existent 10 year "warranty" until these incompetents fix it....See Morelauraoliver
