We used a 2-burner Weber gas grill with good results for at least 10 years. (Eventually it became so out of date that parts were no longer available and we switched to charcoal, but that's another topic.) I'd look at a Weber.

I have one of the new Weber Q's....only had it a few months, but so far it's great!

Thanks, I looked up the Q's. Which one did you get? Doing veggies even for two I wonder if it would be big enough? I did try on the cooking outdoors but many over there have really big, expensive outdoor grills. Much beyond our budget and needs.

Mine's a 4 burner Sears grill.

I cook practically anything on the grill. It's just a gas range, after all--you can use it as a grill or as a burner under a pot.

We do the usual things, of course--meats, potatoes, grilled veggies. Corn on the cob, etc. And we like grilled fruit (with or without ice cream, depending upon our mood) for dessert.

We love grilled pizza--I start with a purchased pizza crust, then add the toppings (often grilled veggies) that we're in the mood for.

A couple of weeks back, we were having our neighborhood yard sale, so I grilled up breakfast for the neighbors. Did French Toast, sausage, hash browns and grilled pineapple. Was a big hit.

I even bake in my grill--bread, muffins, biscuits, cakes, etc.

Nice thing about a grill is you can cook right on the grates, or you can cook in a pan--saucepan, skillet or other over the burner. Or you can use indirect heat for baking/roasting. Nice to have one appliance that 'does it all'. I even use mine to season cast iron pans.

I bought a Sams Club/Member Mark natural gas grill last spring and I adore it. The same grill from Weber would have cost me close to $2K. Sams was no were near that! I have three burners, one infared searing burner and a rotisserie infared also, plus a side burner for pots of sauce and other stuff. Plenty of under grill storage too.

Weber wanted $75 for a vinyl cover, but with Sams it was included plus a griddle too.

Here's my Q....don't remember what model , but one of the bigger ones....that is a whole 11 pound pork loin cut in half, because I fine 11 pounds of meat hard to handle with tongs. And yes the fire did get away from me....but that crust was delicious!

I cook on the grill all year...even If I have to move some snow to get to it. It was a life saver during the ice storms I've been through the last couple of years. I'll just say stay away form the Perfect Flame brand at lowes....check out the outdoor grilling thread for more info. I have a weber charcoal grill that I love so I'm sure there gas version is great too. Peppi mentioned hers from Sams' last year and I'm gonna check them out too. Love my grills and smoker...nothing beats cooking outdoors IMHO.

Cooking outside is a way of life for us! We cook outside all year since we have the bbq's under the patio cover. Yes, bbq's as in plural. My husband came with a gas grill and I had a Traeger pellet grill. They both have their uses, but I LOVE the Traeger above all others. You can smoke or cook on medium or high heat, allowing you to do all kinds of things with it. We even make our thanksgiving turkey on the Traeger every year. We also make smoked salmon, chicken, beef, pork tenderloin, veggies, etc.

It's kind of hard to describe how great the Traegers are unless you've tasted something cooked on one. The flavor of the wood permeates the meat plus it's really easy to use. An electric auger controls the flow of pellets and all you have to do is flip a switch to get it started. It's also a cinch to change the type of wood you use, all you have to do is grab a different kind of pellet. I usually keep two or three kinds around for the various foods I grill. Ok, enough waxing poetic about my bbq. :)

The current grill we use is a 3 burner side by side propane with side burner. From Home Depot. I never use the side burner!

Hubby replaces parts as necessary. We grill all year round too..usually I only need to turn on 2 burners though.

Our last grill was a 2 burner and he replaced the innards countless times over probably 10 years. I think it was from Walmart. Til one day I lit it, and then went in side while it heated..came out to put the food on, lifted the lid and the whole grill, minus the flame/burner fell backwards..LOL It had worn it's self through. LOL

Sam's club would be at least 1 1/2 hr away so I don't think I would look there.
We have a HD, Sears and Ace Hardware within 1/2 hr. I will look at what each have. Thanks for info. We have had a couple of grills in the past but don't eat a lot of meat but that pork loin sure looks good.

I have a four burner gas grill with the side burner also from Home Depot as well - I don't know the name. And I never use the side burner either!

We use ours all year long. We just shovel a path from the back door across the deck to the grill in winter.

I don't like the flavor of things that are smoked so I like the regular grill. And charcoal might taste better but I simply don't want to be bothered with it. The gas grill is good, altho I've had a few different brands and they all tend to be way hotter at the back and sides than they are in the middle. It's good in a way because you can move things around to where you need more or less heat, but then again I tend to never use the middle of the grill except when I'm cooking for a crowd and need the room!

Lisa, interesting you mentioned the back is always hotter. I guess I was wondering if people that pay for the Weber and even more expensive have this issue or do better (? more expensive) grills heat more evenly.

I bought a middle-of-the-road grill last time just for that reason. The grill I had prior to this one was more inexpensive, probably around $150, and useless other than right around the edges. Stuff would sit in the middle forever and just "steam" while the edges would burn. I went up to one around the $350 range and it's much better, however, it's still hotter at the back and sides than the front and middle.

I would love to invest in a "Cadillac of grills" type model, but right now, that's just not in the budget! The one I have is fine for what we use it for. I'm not one that makes roasts or anything like that on the grill. It's hotdogs and hamburgers, and chicken mostly, occasionally sausages or ribs, and some veggies. Once in a while I grill fish, but it cooks so fast it's just as easy to do indoors, even in summer.

I bought a Weber two years ago and also love it.
I have the e-325. I find that for the two of us, I often use a lot of cooking space because flat pieces of vegetables take up quite a bit of room and I like to cook for two meals at once to save on gas/time.
I cook all year too- usually twice a week or so.

If you're really lazy, you could get a foreman grill and an extension cord :-)

Elery has a really nice four burner grill. I have one that I bought at Menard's for $59, LOL. I hate to grill, but Elery loves it. The food seems to taste the same to me, no matter which grill it's cooked on, but Elery does seem to mutter a lot more when using mine, so I think the cheaper ones aren't necessarily all that good, but they are usable.

So.....I guess he's not telling it how much he likes it? LOL Since we'll be eventually merging households it seemed unreasonable for me to buy an expensive grill too.

We got a LP gas grill almost 3 years ago. We had a little Webber charcoal one before that. I like the gas grill better. It has 3 main burners and one warming on on the side. All stainless steel which is easy to keep clean and won't rust. We have a rotisserie with it which I really like. We use it all year long because we live in CA. I'm another that cooks as much as I can on our gas grill. I have half sheet aluminum cake pans that I line with Reynolds Wrap Release aluminum foil and nothing sticks. I made a two pound loaf of 'gyros' yesterday with that set up.

We did something like that the first summer in our house (1973) with a Farberware electric grill on the back porch.
