Good, friendly customer service is my favorite quality for a retailer. I hate going to the home improvement store because it's so huge and I never know how to find anything.

Yesterday, I went to Home Depot to exchange a package of bad light bulbs, try to match a tiny paint chip to do some touch-ups and try to find a MacGyver-ish solution to a tub drain issue. The light bulbs had changed in price, but the service cashier did a work around that ended up giving me a $1 credit. The paint guy worked for 15 minutes mixing paint to match my teeny little chip, even knowing that I only wanted to buy a sample pot because I didn't need much. The plumbing guy and the hardware guy collaborated to come up with a solution for my drain issue that's not elegant, but that works and for a total cost less than $5. I felt like I had hit the jackpot! I'm definitely going online to give them positive feedback.

Our most recent good service experience came from, of all places, our cable company! The technician came on time, went to work quickly and cheerfully, solved the problem like a detective, plus gave us some great pointers on some features we didn't even know we had! He also shared some of his favorite movies and series.....so cute.

I called to put in a good word for him, believe me! That cable company does not have the best reputation.

We had an unpleasant experience yesterday at a golf course.
I sent an email addressing the issue this morning.
I received a satisfactory response from the manager within a
1/2 hour. That's excellent customer service.
(BTW, when I make a complaint, I always include
a positive critique also.)

I definitely like to leave positive feedback when a person or company does a great job, I know they hear so much about the negatives it is nice to get some positives.

The company that I got my wheelchair from is just awesome. I have had to contact them for a couple of parts that over the years have broken. I figured I would have to pay for them. Nope they were very nice and said if they did not have the parts in stock any longer they would send me a new wheelchair to replace mine! HOLY smokes! He said oh yes your chair is guaranteed. He did have the part and it came right away. I have to contact them again because the same part on the opposite side has now broken. He told me that was probably going to happen and said just let us know when it does. Plus they call and check back with me to see if I got it and I was able to install it.
They were so great to work with when I originally ordered it too. They called back a couple of times to make sure it was ok.
They will get all my future business.

I got the two parts and although I am in no way an electrician I fixed the mower in no time, the parts just sort of 'plugged in' to wires with little metal sleeves meant to receive them, and you could see exactly how by looking at the old parts. So kudos to Greenworks. I didn't realize this at the time, but their non commercial warranty is four years.

The reason I ended up with the electric mower which I love is because of a poor customer service experience at Home Depot.
I bought a gas mower there, and some months later after mowing only a few times (I bought it on sale in the fall) it poured gas out of the bottom when started. Home Depot wanted me to sign a document that said they would not pay and I would be charged if it turned out that what was wrong was ordinary wear and not a defect. I wouldn't sign, smelling a skunk. Sure enough, when the company they sent it to for repairs returned it, they said it was fixed and it was ordinary wear not mower defect.
I took it home, started it, and gas poured out of the bottom. The company had done nothing.
Took the mower to Home Depot and they took it out of the store and started it, gas poured out of the bottom.
They started making sounds about further delay tactics, I wasn't having any of it, I left with a refund gotten with a lot of aggravation. This is not to say that Home Depot does not sometimes have good service, it does, but this incident was terrible service at every step of the way.

After all the gas pouring out of the mower I decided to try an electric one.

I always appreciate good service but appreciated Greenworks all the more because I did not have to go through the huge hassle Home Depot put me through.
