Now THAT'S the definition of good customer service!
Comments (7)I didn't post on your other thread because I'm still upset about being verbally abused by a United agent in Chicago (after being shown extraordinary customer service by 100% of the Lufthansa employees we encountered on our journey). I was actually reduced to tears by the horrific and unreasonable "service" United gave me. Incompetence + bitter sarcasm = not a winning combination. However, I have received some very memorable customer service in the past several months: A few months ago, I managed to destroy the glazing on my Calphalon 8-qt oval enameled Dutch oven (chive green, in case you were curious). I braised something tomato-ey in it and filled the base with soapy water to soak, and inverted the lid in the base and filled it with soapy water. Problem is, the enamel is sprayed on (as opposed to "dipped") so the underside of the handle is uncoated, so by soaking it, water got underneath the handle and all the enamel chipped off the handle, rendering my beautiful pot significantly less so. I called Calphalon. Without hesitating, and at no cost to me, they sent me a postage paid label to ship the damaged pot to them, and sent me a beautiful new replacement at no cost to me and with a truly gracious attitude. I love Calphalon. Also, we had a knife set we bought from Cabela's a couple years ago (a little more than a year at the time I called them) and I managed to throw away or somehow lose the paring knife. I called Cabela's (from whom we buy a LOT of stuff throughout the course of the year), and they were able to establish when we bought the set by looking up a credit card transaction in one of their stores from the prior year. I had hoped to be able to buy a replacement knife from one of their returned sets. Instead, they mailed me a new paring knife at no cost, and thanked us for our business. Doing business with companies like these is an absolute pleasure....See MoreGood customer service from online companies with a bad reputation
Comments (1)That is good to hear. I wonder some times if only a few people get bad service then they go on the internet and rant and rave and the nursery's rep is just destroyed then, versus all the people that don't post....See MoreGood customer service
Comments (6)I've had great customer service from Modell's who helped me place an online order in the store when they didn't have my items in stock, and overrode the register to allow me to use my $15 off coupon even though my total was 2 cents short. OTOH, I'm incredibly frustrated right now with Sam's Club though in the end, I *think* it was made right. I ordered my Christmas cards through them on Cyber Monday when they were having a big sale. They were supposed to be ready for pickup last Thursday in the store (a 10 day turnaround). Thursday came and went, then I get an email saying that due to overwhelming demand, my order would arrive in 1-2 days, and here is $10 off your next photo purchase (I never order anything except at Christmas and coupon had to be used by April so no good to me). Get a call that my cards are in, so get there bright and early on Saturday but only 25 cards of my 125 card order are in. They can't tell me anything but give me a number to call. I call, they tell me that they anticipated that they would be in on Monday, but couldn't guarantee, couldn't tell me whether they'd even been processed, whether they had been shipped (this was on Sunday) and can't give me the $10 off NOW on the current order. So I kindly ask to speak to a supervisor...he actually was VERY helpful. Even though he couldn't tell me precisely where my cards were, he offered me a refund on the entire order. I told him I wasn't looking for a full refund, but that $10 would be enough. He insisted though, and said that he'd credit my card for the full amount. Of course, my cards weren't there again yesterday but they did arrive today. So while I was incredibly frustrated with the process and the fact that despite there being a link to "check the status of your order" the link only confirms your order but gives NO information as to the status of the order so it's useless. Anyway, I was just totally annoyed with the whole thing b/c I finally was on the ball and ordered my cards reasonably early for me, only to find out they would be delayed. I should have learned my lesson a couple of years ago when they lost my photo calendars I ordered for a Christmas gift which didn't turn up despite repeated promises, until a week after Christmas. I normally don't order my cards from Sam's and won't be using them next year! For the most part, I've had good experiences in all the shopping I've done, both online and in stores this year....See MoreGood customer service!
Comments (3)OMG yes, I'm reading this while on hold for the 2nd time with Chase over a correction on our new loan, they arbitrarily changed my husbands name during processing. The first call was well over 15 minutes long and some how disconnected, this call so far is 22 minutes and I'm still holding, arghhhhh!!!...See MoreBunny
