Cost vs performance of hydronic radiant heat methods?

We are hashing out the details of building a new house constructed of SIPs and ICFs. In-slab radiant heat will be on the lowest floor, and we're trying to decide what to do on the upper floor - under subfloor between joists or above subfloor with gypcrete installation? We've got about 850 sq ft upstairs to cover, and know that above subfloor will be more expensive, but we really can't tell approximately how much more expensive. Does anyone out there have info about cost disparities between these two installation methods? Also, the performace disparities - heat distribution, "warm-up" time, etc. We've got good book knowledge of efficiency, basic installation details, etc. Looking for knowledge from those who have experience. Thanks!
