Eileen do you live in Phoenix and there's a Mayo down there, or have you moved to Minnesota? As I recall you lived in Wisconsin for quite a while.

Too bad about the blockage, Eileen, but I'm glad they got rid of it. I'm familiar with the procedure because of Lord Daniel. I watched the nurses install one in him. I can't imagine.

Talk to your landlord. You are a good tenant. I hope he will work with you.

What a horrible experience that had to be, but how much better you must feel! I am gathering that you never suspected anything because I know you have had issues with everything running through you when you eat. What have they done (or will they do) to prevent this area from causing another blockage where the scar tissue is located? Appendicitis may have been easier, eh?

Rest as much as you can, and then talk with the landlord. I am sure they will understand, especially when you know that there is unemployment money coming in that will get you up to date.

Eileen, this may have been discussed, but have you considered finding a roommate, perhaps through your church? That would help ease the financial burden and ensure some regular funds coming in.

Oh, my gosh! It sounds like your experience was draining (OK, that sounds like a bad pun but it was not meant to be!) in many ways-- physically and emotionally. I am glad it is over and glad that, hopefully, you have everything figured out!

I am so glad you didn't need surgery (though that procedure doesn't sound much better). I hope your landlord cuts you some slack after all you've been through. Have you been there long? Is a roommate an option?

I had advertised at church last month for a roommate but no one called. My lease though does not allow roommates.

I hope to work out something with the landlord. Otherwise, I will start packing and try to find a place for the pets and me. Most of the furniture will go in storage.

I did just hear from my friend that his parents do not have good health now. The conditions are much worse than he originally thought. I am having a mass said for them at my church.

Mayo has clinics in MN, AZ, and FL.

Is there no family you could move in with for a short while? I don't meant to pry, I just am concerned about your housing predicament. Coupled with your health concerns, you are under quite a lot of stress. You need to heal & recover. True, thank goodness, you dodged a bullet this time, but your little body (& soul) has been through a lot Threedgrad! If family is not an option, could you contact that helpful social worker again? You need to be guided to some long-term resources. You can't keep wondering where your next home is going to be & fully recover at the same time. I know you are a hard worker, and you want to be independent, but there is a season to lean on others, too! Please contact some of the helpers in your community. There has to be some kind of assistance for you in your area. Keep us posted!

Well, yesterday I responded to a craigslist posting for a lady looking for a place to stay asap in Phoenix. She is a 28 yr old nurse coming from Idaho. I just emailed her links to pics of the house. She does not smoke, likes pets but has none of her own. She would be traveling to Canada first to visit her sick uncle and then coming here. This might be a good match. First, I am helping her and she is helping me with the costs. Any suggestions on how to check her out before I let her move in?
