You are not alone Terri. I picked up a small prime rib yesterday and presalted it. Going to grill it for dinner. Didn't even think about doing a corn beef.

I'm not either, Terri. DH is though. He phoned about an hour ago. Tonight is Board meeting & corned beef & cabbage is being served for dinner. He was laughing because the entire Board is Italian. lol He also mentioned that he thought it might be necessary to fumigate the bank tomorrow! :)

I never ever make it. However, DH and I had lunch out today, and the two specials were either CB&cabbage or Reubens. We went with the Reubens.
We had lasagna for supper.

Not me. I'm having steak tonight. I did wear a green scarf today - it was the only bit of green clothing I could find in my closet, interestingly enough.

DB and I are not Irish (although DB looks the part - red hair - and has an Irish name). Kevin does not eat beef, and so we will NOT be having corned beef. In fact, we are have garbanzo beans tonight, and I'm not sure what I'll add to them. I cooked them yesterday and stored them in the fridge.

They have been celebrating in my neighborhood (Marina Del Rey - the adjacent neighborhood) at Brennan's since early this morning. It's easy walking distance from my house, but I won't be going there either!

I had guests last night for Cb and c and will be having leftovers tonight.
I love corned beef and hate the fact that in recent years it's become something only in the stores around March 17th. It makes a wonderful thing to toss into a pot and stick on the back burner in the summer and sue for sandwiches....rubens are wonderful!
So other times of the year we have to either eat expensive deli sliced corned beef or that awful stuff in a can!

Fried chicken and mashed potatoes here tonight. I love corned beef, but I can't make it as good as a deli in Indy so it is always a disappointment. I will even admit that I had no green on today either.

Ummm...I had a Hebrew National hot dog and some sauerkraut for lunch today...does that count as a pseudo CB and C?

I love corned beef..but no on else really does..and hubby doesn't like cooked carrots and potatoes in a pot with the meat juices....

We went to an Indian restaurant to celebrate DD's birthday, which is actually on Wednesday but she'll be away. The curries were sublime.

Steak sandwiches with sauteed mushrooms, onions & peppers here. I love corned beef and cabbage but I'm the minority in the house. The local market makes their own gray corned beef so when I do cook corned beef for myself, I order one in advance. I usually have them make it from an eye of the round. It cooks perfect, holds together just right and slices beautifully for Reubens.

I cooked three big hunks of corned beef yesterday. We love it and had leftovers tonight. I'll save some for corned beef hash, I've already put that in the freezer.

I can usually get corned beef all year here. I always add extra seasonings to mine.

Hubby and I had corned beef on rye sandwiches yesterday for lunch. Tonight? He's working (not sure what he packed in his dinner box) and I'm at home. I haven't eaten anything yet, but it will probably be something really simple. Not corned beef, though.

No corned beef here either - I've done the CB&C for many years probably flashbacks from working at an Irish pub and restaurant for many years as a teen/20. Then Dh finally 'fessed he hates the stuff so none here.

I was gonna make a green eggs and ham quiche in the borrowed convection countertop box oven my neighbor lent me in the event of a roasting/baking emergency but too many errands at dinner for quiche and food-colored reisling. Mebbe tomorrow :)

Non for us either! Herb crusted roast pork loin here. The only thing Irish was the mashed potatoes and of course me!

We had CB once. It was when I told DH that all I wanted for a birthday present was for him to make a meal--keep in mind that he has no domestic skills. He took the day off and the results were CB & C.

Yesterday we had Autumn Chicken and egg noodles.

Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day, aren't they? Well, I am, anyway, for real - Scot-Irish. But, we had a Swedish couple over for dinner, and did not serve cornned beef, especially since 3 out of 4 of us are vegetarian. We had Spinach Linguine with an asparagus and walnut cream sauce, Herb and Panko breaded portabella steaks, and Raspberry pie with chocolate sorbet for desert. Well, okay, the linguine, asparagus and the salad were green.

Just jumping in to say "me to"! :-) Last night DH and I had marinated pork loin chops, corn/butter/chives, pasta (w/butter, parmesean and basil), and canned pears. I think about corned beef every year, and generally flake out at the last minute (especially since it requires a little forethought, and it's usually just me and DH).

Neither of us eat corned beef and one whiff of cabbage done anyway sends us both barfing! I made a nice beef stew and made Irish potatoes for dessert! Gina

I was out of town and went to a Thai restaurant for St. Pats day. I do love CB and C and will probably pick one up on sale for later.

LOL! I had a Portuguese green bean and linguica stew. :)

But today? MIl brought over...you guessed it...corned beef and cabbage. In past years DH has made coddle (a potatoe, onion and garlic sausage dish), not because it's St. Patrick's day, but because we like it so use the day as an excuse to have it. :)

We had Irish beef stew (with Guinness), fried cabbage, and something called "Champ" -- crushed potatoes with scallions.

We aren't Irish, but we've felt a little like honorary Irish ever since our son was born on St. Patrick's Day (weighed 7 lb., 7 oz., too, for a little extra luck of the Irish!) in 1986. My mother in law says he was born then because we went to Ireland for our honeymoon.

Gell I think it's sweet that you adopted a wee bit o' the Irish on behalf of your son!

I got engaged on St Patrick's in St Maarten. We were at a restaurant that was centered about a pool under a lenai with gorgeous birds and tropical foliage. We had dinner and then went to the bar for beverages served in ivory plastic mugs that turned green when filled with cold liquid. I teased down the steps into pool [shoes off] to the top of my shorts and DH followed. We kept going and wound up slow dancing in the pool up to our waists fully dressed. Dh said "You should marry me" I said "I might rabbit I might" the next day we bought a ring in Phillipsburg and he asked me in the store and asked again later that night out on Honeymooners walk in the moonlight with a steel drum band in the background to make sure.

We love 7's and 17's. Engagement 3/17 his DOB 1/17 my DOB 4/17 our first house 117 our second house 17 our first son due June 7, our second son born 2/7.

Damn that's *nothing* to do with corned beef! Or the lack thereof lol.
