Wow. Thanks y'all, it's totally unexpected that you'd say it since I'm not a regular part of the cast here. But I really love it. It's supposed to be a fun filled day and you're playing along with me, so thanks!

Thanks y'all! You mean the world to me. I napped, read, and ate. That was it. And I enjoyed it totally. As you may remember, I have five brothers and sisters, all married, all with children, and all within a 30 minute drive (except Beth and Chuck right now) and I didn't see any of them. On purpose. Just me, mom, and the LF. Quiet and joyful. It's gotten exponentially better since we moved. Nothing has gone majorly wrong since then (after two years of it), and life is so very joyful these days. LF and I even spent the day figuring out where we're going on vacation. It was great to have to decide where, not if. It's gonna be a fantastic year!

Thank you all for thinking of me! No one made me a cake. Mom usually makes me a chocolate meringue pie and I made it this year. She had surgery and isn't back up to snuff yet. Soon. The boy bought me a slice of chocolate ganache cake at the bakery after we walked to lunch, on the way back. Does that count? He wanted to buy the whole thing, but I just knew we'd eat it all! :)

Thanks for all the birthday wishes! It was a fabulous day in the end. Really close friends who moved 3.5 hours away last summer came up and then there was a small catered surprise party. I figured out the surprise shortly before the part but it was still fabulous. DH chose food really well even given my food snobbery and I did not have to plan or clean a thing. When we got home Dh told me our friend was going to stay at our house with her 3 children, my 2 children and her dog while we went and stayed in their condo at a ski resort. The weather was gorgeous and even though I don't ski it was the best. We just enjoyed each other. Annie, the chicken mortality was completely out fault as we did not close up their run one night and a hungry, we think fox, had a feast. The boys learned about the food chain a little better and the parents learned not to be so stupid and trusting. A fox in the city, who knew? That weekend we went to a local Easter egg thing and the boys told the person in a chicken suit to watch out for foxes. -Robin

Aw, y'all are so sweet! Thank you for thinking of me. It wasn't a very good day since I was so sick. such is life! But tonight I'll do something with my son and tomorrow I'll go out with my friend at work (whose birthday is today). I received email greetings from friends... and this note too! I'll just keep celebrating!

Thanks guys! I appreciate any wishes, late, current, you name it. It was a good day. I woke up to my nine-year old son wishing me a happy birthday, came to work (at a teaching hospital, we do research) and the lab gave me flowers, the nurses gave me an ice cream cake, and I heard from friends via phone and emails from St Louis, to Huntsville, Vero Beach, Philly, all over. It was so nice. I hadn't heard from a couple of them in years. Mommy and I took the kiddo to an Italian restaurant and I gained back a couple of pounds. Mmm. I'm still celebrating. Today I'll go to lunch with work administration, my "true" group, where I fit in. I appreciate all you do for me. And I'm glad to know I can contribute something over here, as an old hat. :)

I'm always late. Sounds like you celebrated your birthday the way I do every year, by hitting a favorite Italian restaurant.
