Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. Thank you so so much! Y'all are the best! I ate all weekend long. I had to get rid of the leftover (because it is sacrilegious to have it!) hollandaise and so I had an artichoke. I also had to get rid of the leftover bacon and BBQ sauce, so I had barbequed prawns. You know how it is. Then, mommy didn't feel like make the yearly pie, so I made it. Oatmeal crust chocolate meringue pie! That was Saturday. Yesterday, I was ill. To the point of, I refused to touch any doorknobs or people. I even had a fever, which rarely happens. But I still ate the fried chicken, beans, hashbrowns, beans, and deviled eggs. We had an oreo ice cream cake. Mmmm. Mommy sent me home with her soup and that was good to eat and rest. I feel better today and so it's the meal out with the LF. He'll be looking sharp and using his good manners, so it'll be nice. Tomorrow is a glass of wine with a friend whose birthday is today! Unending food, so you know it's fun!

Thank you for remembering me. It was a pretty good day. I was off work since our streets were covered with a sheet of ice until about 2 or 3PM. My son was out of school, and so, we walked to go out for lunch. He wanted to buy a whole cake!, but I had him settle for a slice of cake we shared from the bakery. Chocolate ganache. It was a nice walk with good company. Even if it was freezing!!!!! Mom called which was good. My family and I had already celebrated last Sunday because my mom had surgery this week and she didn't know how she'd feel. Good choice. She had a hard week and my favorite present was she finally got to come home on Saturday. That evening, my oldest bro had me over for spaghetti. It was nice too. I'm ready to rest!

I'm still harvesting eggplants from my garden, so today I made a big casserole dish of eggplant parmigiana. I'm on the last few episodes of the ones I have of Downton Abby, so will eat it later tonight when I watch. Dakota Happy Birthday!! Rob333, sending good luck for those last two exams of his! Rhizo I hope you feel better soon. A good hearty soup will help. Mamagoose hope the water pipe is fixed soon, and that you do not have any broken water pipes this winter.

Maybe you could stretch it into tomorrow, then Saturday and Sunday, and efficiently utilize the weekend to your advantage...

Thank you all so much! It was so wonderful and I began a couple of days ago, it goes until lunch on Monday when my boss takes me out. Linda, he gave me the sweetest card. The greeting was "Dear Birthday Girl". He's only 11, who is he calling girl? I had to laugh!

Y'all are the best. Sol, will you sing Rockin' Robin?
