This is a 30" inch pizza (the size of 4 large pizzas) from a friend's restaurant on the Mississippi Coast. They are selling them for Superbowl parties. I think they'll be great for everyone except Colts fans! Since I live so far from home now, I'm going to try to duplicate one for Sunday's game.

I wouldn't be able to fit in in my current oven to bake....but maybe after the kitchen redo...

I will be thinking of you and your family on Sunday! We just got word that the Archbishop may close any Sunday Mass that begins at 6:00 pm. LOL! Good thing. DH serves as a Eucharistic Minister on the first Sunday of every month during that time slot. I wish you were in Louisiana right now. I love going down the main road, near my home, because of a rabid NO Saints fan. He just dances on the side of the road for 12 hours a day...trying to sell t-shirts, throws and memorabilia

My mom's priest has already cancelled Sunday's 5pm mass. But, my cousin is a priest at another church in town and he announced this past Sunday that he will NOT be cancelling the 5pm mass. Everyone is so angry about it -- I have been reading the complaints on Facebook!!! I called my mom to tell her to let him know he is a "hot topic" on FB, but she said he wouldn't care - he likes controversy. I have a friend in North Mississippi and her Baptist church has also cancelled the Sunday night service.

Awesome! I'll be baking with special needs kids in the afternoon but I'm hoping to be home by 6pm. DH will just have to take care of the prep work if he wants to have people over.

Sherry, WhoDat is a cheer in the South that has been done for decades by cheerleaders for jr.high, high school, colleges, and even the Saints (it was done back in the early 70's when I was in school -- not sure how much before that). But, the NFL decided this year that "Who Dat" is a trademark of the NFL, and has ordered some stores to stop selling merchandise with the words written on it. It has caused a big commotion down South because the NFL never cared about it until the Saints started winning. Anyway, the cheer is based on the slang and accent of the region, and it goes:
"Who Dat, Who Dat? Who Dat say Dey gonna beat Dem Saints? Who Dat?"

Who dat? is a chant of team support by sports fans, used especially by fans of the New Orleans Saints, an American football team. The entire chant is: "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints? Who dat? Who dat?"

As the New Orleans Saints head into the NFC Conference final, many Saints fans will be shouting 'Who Dat?" to the heavens. No doubt, many people outside of the Crescent City will be asking, "What does 'Who Dat' mean."

The phrase "Who Dat?" has been a rallying cry for the New Orleans Saints for years. The entire phrase is actually, "Who dat? Who dat? Who dat say dey gonna beat dem Saints?"

So how did "Who Dat" become associated with the Saints? No one's quite sure. Many think the phrase was first used by other local football teams such as Southern University. Several other schools in the area claim to have originally used "Who Dat" at games. By the mid-80s, the New Orleans Saints adopted the phrase and it has become an indelible part of the team's identity. New Orleans Saints fans across the world refer to themselves as members of the "Who Dat Nation."

The history of "Who Dat" extends far beyond football. The term may date back to the late 1800s when it was used in minstrel shows and vaudeville acts. The phrase later got picked up by jazz musicians. While the phrase may have originated with minstrel show skits that portrayed African-American in a negative light, the phrase managed to lose its stigma and become part of Louisiana vernacular.

Ann, if you are on Facebook you can go to Strami's Italian Cafe. They have bigger pictures, clickable pictures of the pizzas there.

Well being rather pre occupied with all things pizza I had to go over and check out Strami's on Facebook and I must admit I am impressed! Zoinks! Those photos of the whole pizzas never mind what just one slice looks like are wild. And the pizza looks yummy. I am embarrassed to admit just how big of a dent I could make in even a monster pizza like that. And at $34.99 what a bargain.
