Making cinnamon buns

I am making some cinnamon buns and my tops usually get a little dried out and crusty. Do you ever put tinfoil on top (while baking) so they don`t brown as much.

We are having brunch today - cinnamon buns, scrambled eggs, homefries and fried ham. Can`t wait.

I would set the pan lower in the oven and turn down the temp about 25 degrees. Should solve the problem.

I made a pan of cinnamon rolls earlier this week. I brushed the tops with cream before they went into the oven. They came out a nice golden brown. Not to dark. But you can't really see the tops anyway once I spread on the cream cheese icing.

If they start to brown to much you can tent some foil over the pan.

Shhh!!! Don't tell! I have 2 pans of those rolls in the freezer, wrapped in foil, ready to be warmed until the sticky becomes melted and turned out onto a plate! Like gold in the bank!! Don't tell because I could be mugged for those rolls! Linda cC

My goal this week is to see if I can make 12 loaves of bread instead of just 10. If I can increase my output a little then I will increase my income from this small extra income scheme! Usually I make bread on Thursday and Friday evenings after work and try to put one recipe of dough in the fridge on Wed. night. The Country French loaves were rather big, so maybe I can get three out of the recipe instead of just 2. Plus, that recipe is really -- I mean really -- inexpensive to make. Chicken Lady said she could pick up more 25# bags of flour for me as it is near her daughters school! Otherwise I would have a very difficult time getting away from work to travel to get more flour. Madonna, I can surely stop at one, that's not the problem. What do I do with the rest of the batch? Elery is also dieting, he wants to lose weight to make it easier on his "new" hip and knee. I'm along for the ride, so I'm not sabotaging his efforts, we're both eating the same things. But I just picked up beef AND pork, and we have those 3 deer that Elery shot last fall. My freezers look like this: Freezer #1 with beef produce: Freezer #2 (upright) with pork, one whole shelf is just bacon: Freezer #3, beef and venison: As you can see, there's no place to put leftover cinnamon rolls, and I don't dare eat them ALL. Cookie: If these are Sticky Bunns, it is better to put them in a Plastic container like the use for takeout foods. So the top don't touch. Or put the in a pan with a lid. If you use Alluminum Foil, make a tent over, use some toothpicks to keep it off the Goo ! Then take them out when you bring them to your neighbor. I buy Styrofoam containers from my market, for things like this and to take Dinners to people. Don't cost much. Lou

Doh. These days my brain has been on vacation. Thanks. I am making home fries at the same time and I also put those on the upper rack and so far there is no browning (20 minutes) so it`s working out perfectly! Thanks again.

Mine are very similar to yours Lou - minus those raisins. We are in a no raisin household mostly because I do the shopping and cooking! I use chopped maraschino cherries and walnuts. Ann yours look so good too. My husband has a no cream cheese policy though - I still married him. Love, love cream cheese. Baking them lower in the oven helped a lot. Thanks for the input.

I tent mine with foil because I like them quite soft
