Thank you for all the wishes. I went to lunch with 2 of my closest friends. We really had fun. We each ordered a different dessert and then sampled each other's. Finn's daddy brought him over later to give me a card and a gift certificate to my hair stylist. At lunch yesterday after church, some friends got me a cake and sang to me. At soup supper on Wednesday evening, a friend will bring me a homemade carrot cake. Yummy.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. I have survived the family birthday party so far. My sister doesn't cook, but brought my favorite corned beef sandwiches from Shapiro's in Indy. Delicious! My sister in law couldn't decide on white or chocolate cake so she brought both. It was really strange being banned from my own kitchen. There were the usual gag gifts for turning 50. My sister was really disappointed when I was glad that she got me an old fashioned hand fan. It will be put to good use, if you know what I mean.

I still have another party to get through this evening with some friends that are coming over. They won't let me do any of the cooking either. I am starting to go through cooking withdrawal.

I have gotten lots and lots of puppy kisses today.
