Quest for pizza -- help me improve

Tried a new dough recipe (Bobby Flay's) and used my new Pampered Chef pizza stone. Probably the best pizza I've made to date -- a 3 out of 5. Crust was much improved over the bread-like crust I made before. I don't know if it was the stone or the recipe....

But... I could not get the crust and bottom to brown; it looks too pale. For the second pizza I even precooked the crust on the hot stone for 5 minutes -- no difference. I also brushed the crust with EVOO before baking -- no difference. Baking it at 450 deg which is as hot an oven as PC says to use.
