give us the make and model number of your wireless router and we can likely help you do it pretty easily, most of them it is a very simple task, just enter the address for the router set up in your browser go to the correct tab in the router for security and select WPA2 as the security you want to enable then you will definitely have to choose a name for the SSID because you want to change that and this is what everyone will see as your network name so you do not want to use your name or something that will let them know oh I see that is lpinkmountains network, you want to name it something random, you will also have to set a password or key so that anyone wanting to get on your wireless network will have to enter that key into the blank before they are allowed on, This is the key that must be made up of random letters and numbers most of the time it will generate one for you and you can accept that one but what I advise to people is to WRITE IT DOWN IMMEDIATELY and tape it to the bottom of the router! You should also definitely change the standard password for gaining entrance into the router it self so that only you have that password to be able to get in and change settings, you can add that to the one on the bottom of the router. Most routers do have the internal firewall enabled by default that is something you will want to check since you will be in the router settings it needs to be on. This is not the same as your software firewall you will find the software firewall in your windows security center. you should not need the software or cd for the router to do this. just give us the info on your router and someone will help you.

I checked back here to post a RANT, and discovered it's already here! Thanks jerrod6! Misery loves company. Here's my story of fun and games with BOTH providers. We supposedly had the DirecTV HD DVR and HD Receiver (and new dish) all set to go last month. I paid $299 for the equipment and was told I'd hear from an installer. Nobody called, so I called DirecTV again. After taking a telephone tour of the USA for an hour, I was given a date and told the installer would phone to confirm. You guessed it; no call. I called DirecTV again for another tour of the country -- five cities, as I recall, having to recite my story over and over to each new contact. Another date was set. This time I asked for the phone number of the installer. Of course I didn't hear from anyone and when I dialed the installer's number I got a recording: We no longer service the Chicagoland area. Another call to DirecTV to learn that there is no record of my order or of a date to install anything, anytime. But they will "look into it" and call me. Now Mother Nature steps into the picture. We have a freak snowstorm (8 inches all at once) and the following week is freakishly cold. I call DirecTV and ask them to cancel the upgrade and credit my account. I don't see anyone climbing our roof in this weather. An hour after I cancel, DirecTV calls back and is ready to set a date for install in two days. Having finally wised up to their games I repeat: CANCEL THE ORDER AND CREDIT MY ACCOUNT! And...I call Comcast. Comcast takes my order and sets a date for installation. The installer shows up *early*, but says he only has the HD DVR and a "regular" receiver. (Read on to see if you think he was lying.) Another date is set, a week later. Yesterday another Comcast guy arrives. He puzzles why the first guy didn't complete the installation. We look at the first guy's order sheet and the second guy's sheet; they are identical. Hmmm. Well, then second guy goes out to find the Comcast connection box. THERE IS NONE! Our next door neighbors have Comcast. Comcast has sent two techs out to do an install. BUT... The nearest box is down the street. We will need "Dig and Drill" to lay a line from the box to our house. The second guy assures me they'll do it next week and I should hear from scheduling "tomorrow". I call Comcast after he leaves, wanting to confirm that this will actually happen and am told that all "Dig and Drill" has been suspended in our area...until April. I can't guess how much time I have now wasted on this project between the hours waiting for installers to show up and hours on the phone tapping responses to prompts that don't address my situation. (And how much has this cost each of these companies?!) We are giving this another try. I called DirecTV again. They will come here January 4 and install the HD Receiver/HD DVR box -- and new dish 30 feet up on our 10/12 pitch roof. HAAAAAAAAH-HAAAAAAAAHh-HAAAAAAAAAAH! Yeah, sure they will. Can't you see the techs volunteering for THIS order? (to be continued) -- if I'm still alive after Jan. 4

This makes me feel better about our choice. Oh how I loved that look but my GC appealed to my practical side and disuaded me and I'm glad. He pointed out, not only do they have to look tidy, but only the first few inches of depth is viewable so you either lose the back half by leaving it empty or fill it up, negating the pretty display purpose. Onto the question - I never remember to turn on my UCL. It's almost too much light and I'm not doing that much detail work to need that much light. We put very little specialized cabinetry and that has been ok for us. I sometimes see things on here that I wish I had but only when I see them, not when I'm in my kitchen working, lol. I do wish our spices were better organized. That is probably my only beef with our new kitchen. Still looking for the perfect system to organize in our upper cabs. We like them where they are vs in a drawer, but we haven't found a way to organize them neatly.

Ok, they're here! My Wave Touch set is great! There are a few issues, though, which I will get to. First, the positives: 1. The wave touch controls are so easy to use and intuitive, well worth the extra money. There are so many options and cycles you are sure to find one that suits your needs with a turn of the dial. 2. Clothes do come out very clean without much water or detergent. Better than our Neptunes? Probably, but coming from a front loader already, I don't see too much of a difference. Things are a bit fluffier out of the dryer, though. 3. I love the dryer even more! It is HUGE! I think I could climb in there and take a nap! All of our clothes come out much less wrinkled, so we will spend much less time ironing. And since the spin on the washer is so fast, it takes much less time to dry things. We have not experienced the balling of items as Lars mentioned, except for sheets, but our Neptune did that to sheets as well, so we don't know any different. All other items do tend to move around well and do not get tangled, even jeans and dress shirts come out well (our Neptune would get them very tangled!). 4. I love having the window (coming from the Neptunes without them). The light is fantastic, especially being able to turn it on during the cycle at any time with the wave touch. We are ready to set up lawn chairs in front of them so we can watch them. 5. The washer is so quiet (except for the spin cycle, see below)! I can even keep the door to the laundry room open and not hear it going while it's washing. 6. We got both units with steam. Don't know about any difference with the washer, but in the dryer, we tried some dress shirts of mine. Not much difference. Still have to iron them. But with knits, such as Lacoste polos, the steam cycle will take the wrinkles out! So it won't eliminate ironing for all items, but it does seem handy to have. 7. The reversible doors are great. The installer didn't know how to do it, or even that it was possible, so I did it after he left. Our configuration is washer on the right, dryer on the left, so Electrolux was one of the few options we had. 8. The pedestals are great. Love the push to open/close doors, so we can tap our foot on them to open and close them. Very convenient! 9. We like the doors with the push to open/close as well. They seem very sturdy. Takes a bit of getting used to, and if you lean into the units such as to get items from the cabinet above, you can accidentally open them. This is more of a problem on the dryer, which will stop if it is running, but the washer is locked when running so no issue there. I have also cancelled cycles on both the washer and dryer by leaning into the cancel button. Perhaps they should have recessed them a bit? Now for the negatives: 1. The dryer (we went with electric) does emit a bit of a whine, as rosesark and others have said, but not enough to drive me crazy or anything. You can tune it out, and closing the door makes it almost inaudible. You can definitely hear it outside where the dryer vent is, though! 2. Now for the kicker, the spin cycle is not at all quiet. The Neptune (1000 rpm max) was very quiet, so it is definitely much louder than that. I did quiet it down by fixing the install, screwing in all the pedestal screws tightly and leveling the machine several times, and adjusting the feet on the pedestal little by little during the spin. I have gotten the noise level down, but it still is not so quiet as to have children able to sleep near it, as Lars and others have said. Is there something wrong with my machine? And Lars, I happened to have been drinking a glass of rose wine while testing the spin cycle today and put it on top as you have said you did. The wine definitely did giggle and the glass traveled slowly across the top, maybe about 1 centimeter a second. So it definitely does vibrate. It doesn't travel at all, though. BTW, we have them installed on the first floor with concrete foundation. From all of the reviews, I just expected it to be quieter. The spin also causes the items on the dryer (not touching, perhaps 1/2 inch separation) to vibrate some. Is this normal? My only other experience with front loaders is with the Maytag Neptunes so perhaps I'm expecting too much from 1350 rpm? You can hear it spin with the door closed from upstairs. Now there are tiny lingering regrets about not getting the Miele set! Uh, oh! Should I call Electrolux to get them to check out the spin cycle? I'm afraid that if I call someone out, they will just tell me that all front loaders are that loud and vibrate that way. I think I can return the set within 30 days, so I'm keeping my options open. I don't have the rubber boot problem as others have mentioned. Overall, we LOVE the set, but paying $3800 out the door for the set with pedestals (before $575 in rebates), I want to love EVERYTHING! For that kind of money, it needs to be PERFECT!
